I was suppose to BBQ tomorrow for the game but I won't be able too anymore so I'm just looking to go pick up a brisket and some pulled pork or something similar. Anyone know of any decent places preferably between Slidell and Covington? If I'm getting a brisket should I place that order today sometime? Any advice is appreciated

I'll second Smoke. Best BBQ I've had on the NS. I could bathe in their white sauce

+3 for Smoke.

Looking forward to that Salt Joes in Hammond.

Sticks and stones is really good but you will smell like wood smoke for days

Their burnt ends are killer

As mentioned above, Smoke and Sticks & Bones are both solid.

Of the 2, I'd probably give Smoke the edge.

Abita BBQ is horrible. Don't go there.

Smoke and Sticks & Bones as have been mentioned. I really like Sweet Daddy's too which hasn't been mentioned. They have really good take out options.

Smoke if you go deep into Covington. It's awesome. Otherwise Dickies is perfectly fine.

I'm alone here apparently, but I think smoke is terrible BBQ. Sticks and bones is my choice. Smoked wings were very good as was the pulled pork.

I did not like how smoke's pulled pork was served already tossed in BBQ sauce. To me, if a place does that they are making up for flavor or they dried it out.

I still haven't located good baked beans on the Northshore at any of the options. The best BBQ baked beans I have found are the pre-made ones at the local Winn-Dixie stores, as odd as that sounds. You can't make them or purchase them anywhere else for as cheap as they sell them.

Heard anything about this place? The building looks pretty neat.
