We went last night and had mixed feelings. The restaurant itself felt kinda odd, like it wasn't sure what it wanted to be. They had several managers in suits on the floor like you would see at fine dining restaurant and the prices say they want to be fine dining, but the decor and tv's on the wall said different. They told me they are going to have video poker machines as well, which I thought was odd. There were people there in gym shorts a baseball caps. I don't know it was just kind weird.

Now, on to the food. I had an Allen Bros. ribeye medium rare with shoestring fries and a canebrake. My wife had some shrimp pasta thing and a martini. My steak came medium but had good flavor. The knife I chose was very dull which made cutting a tender steak a chore. The fries were good but only came out warm and got cold quickly. The wife said hers was good. Her martini was good but not very strong. After dinner which was very quick we went to the bar and each had a martini. These were very strong, so consistency isn't really there yet. Overall it was ok.

How was a martini "not strong"?

It had a strong vodka flavor and my wife had to ask for extra olive juice.

I'd have left it on the table and walked.

I agree that they seem to not know what they want to be, but our food and drinks were excellent. Now if they get poker machines I'm out, there are too many good restaurants around without dealing with that crap

Sounds like they're trying to cater to the le Triomphe country club money.

I went for lunch on Thursday and had the smothered chicken plate lunch. It was really good home cookin. It's pretty expensive for what it is and 2 of us spent $40 on lunch and had water to drink.

It was 90% oilfield guys in the place and I think that's their target market.

I would think so...not many people live in that area as a whole. its more of a lunch place since they are at that location. IMO he should have built in Youngsville/Broussard area to attract a better dinner crowd
