Peter Luger is fine, but overrated IMO.

I'm hoping to go to Citizen Kane's pretty soon. It's not far from where I live, maybe a couple minutes.

I've been to Dickie Brennan's and enjoyed it. I really want to go to Keen's and St Elmo's, I always hear great things about those.

Dickie Brennan's is probably the 4th or 5th place steak restaurant in New Orleans

I guess they've never had the 45 day freezer aged thin cut select ribeye at the Sports Grill in Rayvegas.

I've been to two.

Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Dallas
Dickie Brennan's

Don't get me wrong, both offer a very good steak.

However, for the same amount of money, I believe Del Frisco's offers a better steak. I'd even put Ruth's Chris and Mr. John's in that category as well.

Bottom line, while taste may be subjective, you'll enjoy yourself at most of these places on the list.

I've been to a handful of these places (Rathbuns, peter lugers, Brennans, CUT) and would certainly vouch that they are all top tier steakhouses. I have personal favorites that I would put above them but for the sake of creating a list can see why they all made it.

My favorite that I have been to is Cut in Beverly Hills. I've also been to the one in Vegas. I had this

You gotta get: The Wagyu ribeye

and

totally non-traditional dishes (like Wagyu "sashimi")

They were both fricking phenomenal.

I really enjoy Dickie Brennans, most here don't think it is the best.

I've not tried Ox, here in Portland. Must rectify that.

ETA: I looked at a couple of "Best Steaks in Portland" articles, and Ox is not mentioned.

I'm trying Doris Metropolitan for Valentine's day. That's my big steak day.

Going to get an aged Porterhouse, heard so much good about that place, hope it doesn't disappoint.

Yea, Kenny's Wood Fire Grill in Dallas I have never heard of and doesn't show up on any local lists. My guess is they bought the listing on....Thrillist.com....what the hell is that?

Based upon my one experience at V&A, I would agree. Excellent atmosphere, great bar, fantastic steaks and au gratin.
