Yesterday morning the wife and I went to a good friend's dad's funeral in Abita Springs. After we were a little hungry so we decided to stop for a bite at Albasha in Covington. We had the Mediterranean Hummos for appetizer and the wife had Chicken Schwarma, I had the Combination Chicken Shwarma and Gyros plate. I forgot how good that Schwarma is! It was so good I couldn't stop eating and they give you a good serving there. I left there stuffed! There's a Albasha in Metairie but it's nowhere as good as the one across the lake.

You must have never gone to the one in Prairieville. Unless you like your chicken shwarma dry and crunchy.

Naw T, Albasha on Corporate is where it is at.
Pro tip. Get the Albasha Mezza if you're dining with someone. It's $23 for the size that serves 2, $31 for the size that serves four. It's a massive amount of hummos, gyro, schwarma, grape leaves, kibbie, falafal, baba ganoush and salad.

there's one opening in Slidell any day now at the Fremeaux town center. Been wondering about the place. Will have to give it a try.

It's not the best picture, but I have to have the broiled lamb chops on a regular basis.

BR's Greek / Lebanese / Mediterranean food is amazing. I never realized how good it was until I left. I've never had better food of this genre at more places than in BR, and I've had a lot elsewhere.
Albasha is the best IMO.

I go to Albasha or Roman's once a week, typically. Usually Albasha for lunch, and I get the chicken shwarma plate, sub out rice for extra salad. I could eat that every day.

I prefer Zoroona in BR. Tiger Bait was really good until the owner sold it a few weeks ago.

Kabob's is my favorite in BR, just a decent ride from the house. Albasha is solid and probably eat more often. Combo plate is my go to.
