Acme Taco in Lafayette is a must-try!

We went there Tuesday night, and I have to say that this place is legit.
Located on North University near Cracker Barrel at I-10, it's a little out of the way for those living in the heart of the city, and moreso for those on the south side.
This place used to be a run down purple and green immigrant Mexican type of restaurant, but it has new owners and they've totally refurbished the building.
Think casual/dress casual attire in a chic modern decor.
To start, you get chips and their handmade salsa. It is probably the best salsa I've ever had. Full of flavor and not watery. There are numerous salsa choices.
The tacos are very good. $3 each. You'll want to order about three for your meal. Tuesday is $2 taco night, so not a bad deal.
I got the side of Creme de Maiz, and it was very good.
Their Plain Jane (house) margarita was tart but very good, served in a stemless martini glass. Got mine on the rocks. There are several interesting marg choices here as well.
Check them out at www.acme-taco.com and see the menu.
You'll notice you can get Creme Brûlée for dessert.
They don't do the full menu of chimichangas, chalupas, tamales, steaks, fish and such. Pretty much just tacos, some similar to quesadillas.
I encourage anyone in the area to check this place out. We will be going back, for sure.
Post your experiences, par favor.

I remember what it used to look like previously and for some reason, because of that I had no intentions in trying Acme Taco, but thanks to your review, I'll try it out when I get a chance even though I try to stay away from that side of town!

you are right, this place totally doesn't belong in that location
I would add that the waitstaff is outstanding.

Quick Hijack:
Forget the crawfish request. My guys got me taken care of. Thanks anyway.
And yes, I'm gonna try Acme Taco, but for lunch as I'm downtown and its still light outside at noon.
