Good God, that means people wearing suits had a meeting and looked over some numbers, deciding that YES this is something people will watch. Enough people to make it profitable for their network.

I heard some radio guys talking about it. Apparently, it's a spinoff of that Toddlers in Tiaras show, which I never had the stomach to watch.
