New scenario:

The Robinson trade was rejected. Would you keep Hopkins at a 3rd round keeper cost (projected 1st round pick) or target one of the following in a trade:

Player (keeper round cost / projected draft round pick)
Donte Moncrief (12 / 6)
Allen Hurns (16 / 7)
Michael Floyd (16 / 6)
Jarvis Landry (7 / 5)

Projections takes from FantasyPros.com

Standard scoring
10 teams
1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 RWT Flex, 1 Def, 1 K

TLDR:
Keep DeAndre Hopkins at a 3rd round cost or trade Hopkins for Allen Robinson and keep Robinson at a 6th round cost.

I'm in a keeper league where you can keep up to 2 players each year at an increasing cost (draft in the 6th round, keep the following year with your 5th round pick, keep the next year for 4th round pick, etc.).

I can currently keep DeAndre Hopkins at a 3rd round cost, but I may be able to trade for Allen Robinson at a 6th round cost (I'd probably have to use Hopkins in the trade, so both isn't likely an option). Which would you choose?

I could also potentially trade for the following:
Player (keeper round cost)
Donte Moncrief (12)
Allen Hurns (16)
Michael Floyd (16)
Jarvis Landry (7)

ETA: other keeper is likely a RB (currently have Jeremy Langford at a 16th round cost, but trying to trade for Lamar Miller - also a 16th round cost).

Robinson as a 6th is more value to me.

That's what I'm thinking, especially considering his keeper value going forward.

Next season, Hopkins would cost a 2nd if I chose to keep him again. Meanwhile, Robinson would cost a 5th next season.

Just wanted to get other opinions.

I think Robinson could/should be a 2nd round pick this year, so that 6th value is pretty nice and like you said, going forward it's nice value for the next 2-3 seasons barring injury/regression. I think they are same tiered players so a 3 round difference is big.

You can also look at it like this in hypothetical draft scenario where you get both of them. Let's say you keep Robinson in 6th and shoot to draft Hopkins in 1st. You have rounds 2-5 to play with and your WR corps is locked up with two elites. Now, if you keep Hopkins at 3rd, draft Robinson in 2nd, sure you get that 1st round pick freed up now to take a RB and still have the same 2 elites at WR, but you basically have to sit and wait until 4th for your next pick. I would rather go Hopkins 1, Keep Rob 6, draft those rounds in between at 2-5 instead of sitting out until the 4th.

I'm sure the only reason the other guy would be trading for Hopkins is to keep him. So I don't think any scenario where you get both is possible

Oh, of course. I didn't think that through. Im a dumbass. Well, sub AJ/Dez in right there for Hopkins depending on where youre picking OP.

Picking 8th and based on projected keepers, AJ Green, Dez Bryant, and LeVeon Bell are options.

10 or 12 team? Picking either of those WR's at 8 isn't bad. I like Green a little more because Romo cant stay healthy. Knowing the guys in your league, does Bell have a chance to swing back to you in 2nd? You would be loving life in that scenario.

I don't know, and that's tough. I've had Bell on at least 1 team for the past 2 years and I've loved it (even though he got hurt). I think there's a chance he does, but I'd be tempted to take him at #8 just to be sure.

The Robinson trade fell through. Updated the OP to reflect new options.

Robinson is the better play. He gets to grow up with the same quarterback that we know has a lot of potential in a young offense that's improving.

Who knows what Osweiler will amount to, he's sailing every throw in the preseason

I'd keep Hopkins in your new scenario

Thank you for the response, but unfortunately the Robinson owner didn't go for it. New options in the OP.

Those being the other options now, I would absolutely keep Hopkins in 3rd. Moncrief in 12th is intriguing, but not enough.

Moncrief is a good value no doubt, but Nuk for a 3rd is a value I wouldn't be able to pass up.
