Will draft strategy be different next year fantasy wide? (Best available or RB?)

It seems every year guys will take a RB and pass on a stud QB or WR in rd 1.

Or will Reggie Bush, Lacy, Moreno replace rice, spiller, trich in the first rd.

Gio Bernard will crack the top 10.

Keenan Allen will be a 3rd rd pick.

no don't think so. Most RBs have been terrible, but if you got lucky on the WW or mid/late in the drafts, you team could be legit even if you did have a shitty draft

i.e.

Moreno
Julius Thomas
Cameron
Gordon
Lacy
Romo
Rivers

Been playing in a PPR for a couple years and have always gone with RBs with my first two picks. Next year Im targeting WRs and prime time TEs before anyone else. They just produce so many points. I want a megatron and dez bryant tandem with jordy nelson in the flex. That would be heaven.

Has this been the worst year for RB's in a while?

I think if I don't have a top 4 pick, I'll go WR next season.

I think it's moving more towards best available but there's still so few elite RBs, they need to be taken early.

There's always WRs that step up and can be had either late or from the WW that perform at near elite levels, ie Cobb and Antonio Brown last year and TWilliams this year are good examples. By taking elite RBs early you can set yourself up to make trades later on, IMO.

For instance, I'm in a 10 team PPR, and yeah it's easier obviously to get stacked teams but I've been able to make some trades with people that needed RBs, and because I went RB heavy early, took a QB late, and watched the wire was able to make solid trades.

I drafted 8th in a snake and went McCoy/Forte/Julio/Bush. Now, I made some good choices, because I could have taken Spiller/Trent/etc at 8/13. Had I done that I'd be hating life.

Trades I've made to teams with the Spillers of the world because I went so RB heavy and good but not elite WR were:

Week 4 Antonio Brown/FJax for Jordy

Week 5 Stevie/Steve Smith/Ridley for Dez

Week 9 McCoy/Alshon for Mega

So if all stay healthy, I should be in good shape. Current roster:

QB: Ryan
WR: Mega, Dez, Jordy, TWilliams, DHB, Kerley, Harvin (Trying to trade him)
RB: Forte, Bush, Murray, Helu
TE: Reed

Way things look if you can grab 3 stud receivers and and above avg QB you can win now instead of needing stud running backs....

unless charles/mccoy/forte/bush is available, im only drafting wide recievers or gronk/graham. im in a 12 team ppr with 3 wr, 2br, te and a flex.

Hell AP, Foster neither has been "horrible" but neither has lived up to what they've done in the past yet either. Ray Rice had been one of the most consistent backs for awhile and then fell off the earth this season, a season you would think Baltimore would use him more.

False

I drafted Calvin, Dez and Nelson as my top 3 WRs with Gordon and am currently 3-5.

WRs don't mean much when RBs are shite. I took chances on DMC, MJD, Miller, Vereen. Vereen is finally coming back and the other three are starting to come around but a little late.

Just think had you grabbed Woodhead off waivers, drafted Gio late, took a chance on Powell for a few weeks, or grabbed J. Rodgers you would be undefeated most likely.

Although I play in a league guy has
Calvin/AJ/Jordy/Gordon (grabbed Calvin at 9 and AJ was still there when he picked again)

But he has V. Davis at TE, Rivers at QB, FJax and Woodhead at RB.

He drafted D. Wilson/MJD as his RB and had R. Wilson at QB

Yep. Tell me about it.

I got sucked into reports of Ball being the lead guy in Denver like Lacy, and took him in the 7th over Lacy and Gio.

The weeks Woodhead, Stacy and Ellington were all claimed with first priority, which I didn't have.

I'm actually near the top in points, but usually get the most scored on me. Ironically, three of the games I've lost is when Calvin and Dez had their duds (5-6 points each)

getting injured is the only thing id worry about. all 4 of those guys are playing for a new coach/offense that seems to be ideal for their fantasy value. these guys are ideal ppr backs.

No one thought Ray Rice or Spiller would come out playing the way they have either. Both of those players were studs last year and Rice has been a stud for awhile now. You never know how a RB will be year to year

i'm not disagreeing with you guys, im just saying there are only 4 running backs i'd be interested in next season with a high pick. and i'd be basing it simply on "what have you done for me lately"

edit- my interest in bush and forte also has alot to do with the offense that their in and the weapons around them. i like charles because smith is the dumpoff king.
