What's the boards opinion on Ted Ginn JR. as a flex?

What are you expecting from Ginn?

Cooks got 117 targets last year, I know Ginn prob will not hit that but some of the offense will be tailored to his skill set.

12 man Dynasty league

30 roster spots. PPR

I don't know shite about Dynasty, but only see Ginn as a bye week replacement. Maybe a flex if your flex has a shite matchup.

I have him somewhere near WR50. That's a WR4 for the week.

I'm sure with 30 roster spots you have a better option at a flex. But he is in a prolific offense with a lot to go around. But trying to figure out who Brees is going to throw to on a weekly basis can be nerve racking. He will get his some weeks though I'm sure.

My rule since Graham left is to only own Brees in that offense.

Yep, I have him in the high 40s somewhere, just can't remember the exact number.

you're in trouble if you're considering him at flex

He'll have maybe 3 weeks all year where he blows up, and most of the rest of the time he will be very paltry. He isn't much more than end of the bench depth, and I would probably try to find players with more upside for that. I think he's a more useful real life player for the Saints, keeping defenses honest by having to account for his speed, than he is a fantasy asset.

It's a very deep league

QB
RB
RB
WR
WR
Flex
Flex
TE
K
+ 6 IDPs

12 teams, we're in year 4. Nobody is super stacked.

Yeah, I missed that it was a dynasty. Still, I think that I would rather keep players with a little more upside, and I don't think Ginn is really worth more than a desperation start.

Ginns on a one year deal.

I have John Ross, Curtis Samuel, and Kenny Golladay all on long term deals. They're all on my bench for now. Hopefully one breaks out.

It's kind of hard to give advice about this sort of thing without knowing the rules of this particular league, which sound fairly complicated, and also knowing other details which are probably too cumbersome to explain.

All else being equal though, I would say that Ginn is probably a way below average flex starter for your league. I also think that the other wr's that you listed are probably at least a year from breaking out. Maybe Golladay has the best chance for this year. Have not done much research on Samuel though.

Pretty much all of what he said. 30 roster Dynasty league is just a bit difficult to give much opinion on without way more context than you can reasonably provide here.

I've got Ginn at the 49th receiver in a full PPR league this year, so in line with the guys above. That is generally speaking not good enough to make a flex spot in most leagues... Certainly could try and play matchups and find some starts for him, but he's never been consistent in his career and I wouldn't anticipate it starting this year. I expect to see Snead and Kamara eat up a lot of the targets that might have been vacated by Cooks, as well as a likely uptick from Thomas.

Dunno if this is something you've already done or if you're planning, but if you've got other options would maybe lay those out to get advice... otherwise he kind of is what he is.

Team is decent for a 12 man Dynasty
30 roster spots PPR. We have long term contracts and a auction draft each offseason.

Brees
Dalton
Jordan Howard
Dalvin Cook
Terrance West
Rex Burkhead
Allen Robinson
Kelvin Benjamin
DeSean Jackson
Tedd Ginn
Kenny Golladay
Ross
Samuel
Hunter Henry
Jack Doyle

As you guys suspected it's a very complex league.

Looks pretty good. Assuming West is Flex1, so Ginn is the question mark at Flex2... Probably playing whack-a-mole at that slot though in all honesty. Some frankenstein of DJ/Ginn/Burkhead based on matchups and prior performances. Possible that some weeks Doyle may be more valuable if Luck comes back healthy soon.

Would pretty significantly prefer Desean Jackson typically at flex over Ginn. Jackson is still likewise a very feast or famine play, but I think he finishes the season with overall significantly better stats. Burkhead may become startable too though. Hard to predict NE backfield.

Really? How far ahead of Thomas was Cooks's ADP last year?

I'm sure you can figure a guy like Brees out, whose made multi- millionaires out of guy's like Robert Meachem, Lance Moore, Marques Colston, and soon to be, Willie Snead.

Once you do figure out, who it is going to be, week to week, let us know!

Cuz for the life of me; I cannot remember one weekly consistent player since Colston and Graham were around.

I took a flyer on him. Drafted him and will keep him on my bench to see what he does. Brees has a history of elevating players. I wouldn't want to bank on starting him, but there is a chance he is start worthy.

I need to see him in a real game to gauge how they are going to use him.

He'll probably see 5-7 targets a game. Gotta hope 1 goes to the house.
