What do you think of this payout format?

Have a 10 team head to head league. $100 buy in. $80 goes to the main pot where we split $450 $225, $125. Then take the $200 extra and want to do a highest single week points for $100 and best season record for $100. Trying to keep guys involved for the entire year. Which the highest points total payout should do. Seem like a good idea?

I never cared for giving money to the highest scoring team nor the best record in the league. It doesn't make crap if you won't win. I'd prefer to have the money allocated towards the winners. Want to keep all the guys involved? Fine the last two teams money... that's what I do in one of my leagues.

I like it Citgo. As a team owner it gives you a chance at some cash and bragging rights for the in season accomplishments. I vote yes.

The highest point total for a given week might keep them interested.
Another way is to expand the playoffs. If only 4 make the playoffs now, try opening it up to 6.
Obviously you need to weed out some of the people in your league if you've got a problem with people not participating. One league I'm in the commish has taken a hardened stance and banished several of his good friends in order to replace them with people who will fill their rosters each week.

no like
just take the 140 and split it up $10/week to highest scorer
split 860
1st 460
2nd 250
3rd 150
those 3 will have most likely have the majority of the high scores anyway.
