Waiver Wire cutthroating Acceptable?
Posted by BOSCEAUX on 10/14/15 at 10:07 pm00
I have the #1 waiver spot and the Charles owner just put in to get West. Should I snag him even though I don't need him.

snag him. the goal is to win, not help your opponents

Did this exact thing to my best friend who just beat me. Don't even want west that bad.
Holy frick, yes. Decreasing others chance of winning is the same as increasing your chance of winning. Not to mention you never know if you will need him. If he's better than what you have on your bench then he improves your team. Someone gets injured and bye weeks pile up he may be your best play.

Of course.
Then try to trade rape him or just let him suffer with a weaker team.

I started thinking about karma and just handcuffed Freeman with Coleman. I'm new to this.

Like everyone else has said, if it's an improvement over what you got, go for it.

Who do you have as your Rb1, Rb2 and Flex?

1. Are you the commissioner?
2. Can you see the waiver claims before they are processed?

I picked him up ahead of the guy who owns Charles/Davis. I'm going to see how this week goes and decide what I want to do with him. He'll either be trade bait, dropped or a replacement for CJ Anderson.

This is a serious question. Only the commissioner (or those with commissioner privileges) should be allowed to see who has submitted a claim on waivers. It is strictly prohibited in my league to view the waiver wire claims for the purpose of snatching a player requested by another team.
If you did that, you're a POS.
If your league allows all teams to see waiver wire claims before they are processed and at a time that others can submit rival claims, that would encourage owners to wait until 11:59 p.m. to submit claims. That would be silly. Just change the rule, then you can avoid being guilt ridden as you appear to be.
Lastly, assuming you've done nothing underhanded, anticipating that the Charles owner would want West and swooping in to get West first is acceptable fantasy behavior.
