H2H Points league, guy is strongly pursuing Mike Trout.

Has offered me
Goldschmidt, Turner, Sano for Trout, Rendon, and Jon Gray

Because of the roster structure Gray is almost a throw away for me.

Yes or No?

Who are your other pitchers? Is this a keeper league? Why is Gray a throw away fir you is what I'm getting at. Also, where did Sano rank in points leagues with his Ks?

I know. What does that change for you?

What happens when rendon outscores Turner?

It's a strange pitching structure in which you only get a maximum of 4 pitching starts a week. 4 SP slots and 1 RP slot.
I have Sale, Carrasco, Felix, Pineda, Gray, McHugh.

In a week where Sale or Carrasco has 2 starts you essentially leave your fourth slot empty. So plenty of decent pitching to be picked up off waiver wire if I do the deal.

It is a 12 team league you get to keep 2 offensive players and 1 pitcher each season.

My current roster is
C-R Martin
1B-D Murphy
2B-J Kipnis
3B-A Rendon
SS-A Cabrera
OF-M Trout
OF-A McCutchen
OF-A Zobrist
UTIL-K Morales
BENCH
I Desmond
D Gregorious
J Mauer

After trade would be something like this with a lot of roster flexibility.
My current roster is
C-R Martin
1B-P Goldschmidt
2B-D Murphy
3B-M Sano
SS-T Turner
OF-A McCutchen
OF-B Zobrist
Of-I Desmond
UTIL-J Kipnis
BENCH
K Morales
D Gregorious
J Mauer

Would likely try to flip Kipnis for another 3B if this was the case.

I appreciate the input guys I wasn't planning on entertaining many offers for Trout but when this one came through I felt I had to atleast consider it.

This is what I fear. It's a huge boom or bust trade imo.

I think they are pretty close regardless, but I think you gotta cash on that trout name value

And rendon bounced back last year, I think his numbers could be even better this year

I think I need to know more about Sano for this deal. Is he even a top 200 player in points?

God, I hate points leagues.

According to CBS, he is 131 overall. I could see Sano having a monster year but have no clue has that relates in points leagues.

I think I'd stay put

4 pitching starts in a week -- carrasco is an injury waiting to happen, McHugh is already on the DL. I think I'd wait to see if either Gray or Lineda breakout before making a move like this.

I don't trust Felix at all

Sano SO rate was 36% 2016???? Am I reading CBS right?

I really don't know what to make of Sano for 2017... he went for $14 at auction in a limited keeper league. I bailed on him after $6.

Simply using the ESPN preseason Top 300 for points this is how it breaks down.

Trout 2
Rendon 76
Gray 244.

Goldy 5
Turner 15
Sano 117

Those numbers are what's really driving me to strongly consider. Thanks again for everyone's input.

Update:

After much debate I counter offered Trout, Gray, and his choice of Ian Desmond, Kendrys Morales or Jason Kipnis for Paul Goldschmidt and Trea Turner. He accepted the deal with Kipnis.

I keep Rendon and will improve my weakness at SS once Turner gains eligibility in two weeks. I'm happy with the deal.
