10 team, PPR league.

Looking at Jamaal Charles or Antonio Brown with the 1st overall pick.

I love both guys as producers at the top spot. Normally, I would never consider taking a WR 1st overall in this scenario. However, I've done a few mocks and there's not a lot of difference in how my overall starting lineup looks.

Plus, taking Brown may throw my co-owners for a loop. We draft live and some of the guys get rattled easily as far as their own strategies are concerned.

Am I overthinking here? Is not taking Charles (or other top RB) 1st a mistake?

With 6 of 10 making playoffs, I would take Le'Veon Bell 1st OA. In a PPR league if it wasn't for his 3 game suspension, he would be hands down #1 OA.

You have a lot of wiggle room to make the playoffs only having to have a better record than 4 teams.

Aside from that, since it's 10-team league, most teams will be stacked and players will be available at your 1/20/21/etc draft spots if you decided to not go RB. It's easier than in 12 team leagues. You can go Antonio #1 OA and still have a plethora of choices at 20/21 whether you want to go Zero RB or RB/WR etc.

Yes, if it weren't for the suspension I'd take Bell. I've always been of the mindset to start strong, doing whatever I can to accumulate wins before the bye weeks, which is why I think I'm going to stay away from Bell.

I guess it depends on whether I prefer rolling with some combination of Hill/Foster/Forsett/Ingram (maybe Murray or McCoy) as my 1-2 RBs, or Green/Jeffrey/Nelson/Cobb as 1-2 WRs.

Last year in PPR, only 12 RBs had 200 or more points. Whereas 26 WRs had 200 or more points. Gotta pick a sure fire point producer at the RB spot in your first two picks.

I had both of those guys on my team last year. Honestly I wouldn't touch Charles in the first two rounds. Reid takes him out once they get in the redzone. His big scoring games are not consistent.

Brown on the other hand was my MVP on a team where I also had Demaryus Thomas and Andrew Luck. Brown is absolutely worthy of the top overall pick.

His production was slightly down last year, but he was hurt until about Week 4 and missed significant time during that stretch.

That said, tough to argue that he's not a top 10 back under any circumstances, which is essentially what you're saying.

If L. Bell's suspension gets reduced to, say, 1 game, he's probably 1st overall.

I can only imagine how that would go down, "wait you picked Antonio Brown first? Ok, I'll take AP."
