Keeper Rules:

1) You may keep up to 3 total players. You are allowed to keep less than that (even 0) if you so choose.

2) There will now be penalties associated with keeping a player. You will lose a draft pick 2 rounds before the round they were drafted last year. EX) Antonio Gates was drafted in the 14th round last year. You would give up your 12th round pick in this years draft.

3) Any player kept last year will act as a 3rd round draft pick last year. This means keeping one of these players will result in a loss of your 1st round pick.

4) If a player you want to keep will result in losing a draft pick that you do not have, you lose the following round. EX) If you drafted a player in the 5th round and then traded for a guy that was drafted in the 5th last year and you want to keep both, you will lose both a 3rd round pick and a 4th round pick. And for this year only, if you want to keep 2 players that were keepers last year, you will lose both a 1st and a 2nd round pick.

5) Players drafted in the 1st or 2nd round can be kept and both result in the loss of a 1st round pick. If you keep both, then it will result in the loss of your first and 2nd round picks.

6) Any player that was picked up off of waivers can be kept at the penalty of their ADP for the current draft. This will be based on fantasypros.com's average PPR ADP. It will lock in the day keepers are due, which will be exactly one week before the draft. This can be found at Current PPR ADP

7) There is no limit to the amount of years that you can keep a player.

Future Draft Order:

Starting in 2016, there will be a draft lottery to determine the draft order for all teams that did not make the playoffs. Percentages as followed:

12th place - 30%
11th place - 25%
10th place - 20%
9th place - 15%
8th place - 7%
7th place - 3%

First off, well done and thanks.

Second, I'm not a huge fan of not being able to keep a first or second rd pick. I think you should always be able to keep a guy and forfeit your first if you want.

Third, I'm not sure I'm following the last part. Are you saying that the last place team will have to pick 12th? Not a fan of that or consolation bracket meaning anything. I'd prefer 7-12 draft spot should be determined by regular season finish.

I agree with Roll on both these. Also, if we keep the 3 keeper setup rather than going to 2 and don't have the keepers count as our first 3 picks it's not going to fix anything as far as the team balance issues.

I'm cool with being able to keep 1st and round picks as well and have them be equal to a 3rd rounder. I just added what I've seen most leagues with this format go with. But with that then you can essentially keep a player forever at a 1st round grade which I was trying to avoid.

And we can roll with a lottery for the non playoff teams. I'll come up with some percentages later.

I don't mind doing 2, but I don't see 3 being much of a difference. Teams that had rough years can still keep 0 and start from scratch and the player pool will still be really good with teams starting to keep their best values rather than their best players.

If we move to ESPN how will keepers work? Administration can modify teams before draft?

Yes. Swamps will be able to add players to each team and allow us to select keepers.

Yeah I'll start working on getting everything transferred over but we need to get some more owners.

The only issue we are going to run into is the draft. ESPN won't allow me to assign keepers to certain rounds so that will get a little tricky. I will either have to pause the draft when it comes to a spot where there is a keeper (or have the owner just select that player), or we could do a slow draft when the time comes although I know a few people aren't a fan of those.

I'm not a fan of Yahoo anymore, but we could always stay there if it makes things much easier.

I don't think Yahoo allows it either, or any free sites.

It won't be a big deal to work around it. Will just be a little inconvenience.

Also what are your thoughts on players that were selected off waivers by a team but were drafted by a different team and dropped? Should they lose a 9th round pick (waiver loss), or the round the player was drafted in last year?

I think it should be where the player was drafted just to discourage any funny business.

And yes, Yahoo will allow you to place the keeper in whatever round you like. The commish will have to do it in commish settings though. It isn't something that is automated by the team owner or anything.
