I know. That's how it's set up in every other league but can't do it here unless they've changed something.

The only other option would be to run. Waivers twice a week, one after Tuesday and another after Thursday but that would put EVERYONE on waivers again between Wednesday and Friday. You wouldn't be able to add someone who plays Thursday unless you claim him on the Wed morning waiver wire.

Just happened to read up on Protected Free Agents last night because I had no idea what that meant after someone gets dropped. In the FAQs about it, it says:
quote:

Leagues using a waiver wire can also select “Until the next Waiver Wire” as the availability time of newly released free agents.

What exactly does "Until The Next Waiver Wire" do? Does that mean they cant be picked up at all after being dropped until they are put on waivers during the next waiver period?

We could just move everything to ESPN

This is an issue that merits moving sites IMO

If we do ESPN it would have to be 2 leagues. They only allow 20 teams.

Let me read up on it. I'll call RT today and see what they say.

Sorry, can y'all break this down for the new guy? Current system is FAAB each week during waivers, then free for all once waivers clear?

If you drop a guy outside of the FAAB period, he goes to straight waivers and not FAAB

So it's basically a free for all the moment he clears

Yeah, and that's not a problem. The issue is the guys that were dropped during the waiver. The can't be picked up until 24 hours have passed, but there's not an option to claim them. They just go to whoever is first. Rt does a single waiver wire, not continual waivers for protected guys.

You can set it up for multiple waiver wires but that would mean there would be no unrestricted pick ups until the last waiver wire passed.

Oh...Well that system sounds like it sucks.

Have y'all looked at MFL? They tout it as the "the fantasy league with all the options" or some such nonsense

i recommended last year that 1 person from the other conference runs an email account where people can send in blind bids. Then when they are scheduled to come off of waivers, the person running the account to announce the winner.

i wonder if RT would then allow the commish to deduct money from their FAAB budget

That's why I wanted to know the actual meaning of the setting "Until The Next Waiver Wire" for dropped players. Would that make them unavailable for pick up until they are put on the next available FAAB waiver?

Is it possible to setup multiple waiver periods with a $0 bid option?

So looks like that setting just prevents a player from being dropped & added in the same week, but will put them on next waivers. Example: a guy dropped on Wed of any given week wouldn't be available until the following FAAB period after that weekends games. That's how I am interpreting it anyways. Would that be better than a free for all 24 hours after being dropped?

The downside is someone could abuse the system that way and add guys only to drop them immediately just to prevent others from picking them up.

Commissioner doesn't have ability to put players on Waivers? I know you can assign players to certain teams.
