Why would I trust starting a dynasty league with a set of rules when those rules could change at the whims of the masses.

ETA: written before saw your compensation post

.redraft, let teams who want to keep a player on their team from last year carry over, and the teams who don't want a keeper will draft their keeper in the 1st round. Complete redraft after that. Other than Karma, who is against that? SFP, Honk??

i assume pick trading is illegal going forward?

Well I would say track record, for one...this is the 10th year. We are obviously trying to make changes for the better. That said, you aren't glued to the league. I like having you around but if you have trust issues and you are uncomfortable, do what you have to do.

We need to decide what type of league we want this to be 5 keeper, 1 keeper, complete redraft, dynasty, points, etc.

Let's figure that out and then we can work on a "fair" way to move forward.

With that, yes. It's a redraft. If we elect to go with 1 keeper, the most you can trade 1 player for would be 2 players.

I don't have trust issues at all haha. I just think that continuity is important in fantasy leagues.

If we agree that compensation should be given in some form then I'm all good with proceeding forward.

My vote for the new iteration would be for total redraft, dynasty league.

the upside of that is most everyone will have a shot at their favorite players and will be given the time to see that actualization play out over seasons

That is my preference too.

But if not, I want redraft each year with top 6 bottom 6 format.

you're going to have to make absolute # limits b/c you can just throw in 2 crap players and get 6:3 in return. i thought about this issue this morning when i wrote my long post. so max # of players involved in a trade = 3, or something similar. that's getting into the nitty gritty though

i can live with 1 keeper. i'd like to keep one permanently that can't be moved (you have to "drop" him in the offseason when you choose your next keeper and your former keeper is in the draft pool)

If our end game is to make the league exciting for everyone every year with minimal quitting and where the draft actually matters, where regular season trades have an emphasis for the same year, a redraft with the top 6 format brings all of that. The ONLY reason not to do it is because it would have to be a points league. I think we have enough creative minds here to make a point league as close to a category league as possible.

problem with that is if he gets injured. like KD a few years ago.

not to be hyperbolically definitive, but i'm 100% out if this happens

well that sucks, m8. We lost a couple when we made the move to TDFL. People had "SICK KEEPERS" and nice draft pick spots but at the end of the day we made the move and it's probably the best league on here.

We don't have to do top 6...I am a dreamer there, but we need to figure this out asap. Need to know what you will and won't do, and we will likely be dropping people along the way (me included).

Seems to me, it's redraft each year or dynasty. Two opposite ends of the spectrum.

Roto-based weekly cat scoring

Finish 1st in FG% for the week, get 12 pts. Finish last in blocks, get 1 point.

I like...a lot...but we would need to find a website that allows that.
