He's getting called up to pitch this friday. I need to drop someone, here are my options:
Aaron Nola
Jamie Garcia
Steven Wright

H2H, usual stats but we use quality starts and K/9 instead of wins and K's.

who would you drop?

I also think it is easily Wright.

What size league?

Post your whole roster

Wright has given up 2 ER or less in his last 7 starts dating back to last year. Shut down the Jays twice thus far this year. IDK what to make of him but a lot of experts say his peripherals are following RA Dickey's breakout career path

I'd definitely start him vs the Braves tonight, but after that, I don't trust it. I'd much rather own Nola, Jaime, and Manaea.

Hopefully he has 3 SPs better than those guys. In that case I would take the upside. But Nola has been hit around thus far, Garcia is always hurt, and we dont know if Manaea sticks

Wright has his own faults too. If he's figured something out and continues to pitch like he has, he has value.

I would assume these three are his lowest ranked arms. I'd be fine with streaming him, but I'm not holding onto this guy. I also don't think he would be my upside play.

I was referencing the 3 other guys as upside plays, not wright

Wright could be the play if pitching is thin, which is why I wanted to see the whole team and possibly someone else to drop

Hitters are batting .214/.255/.375 against Nola so far this year. And he is striking out 10.38 per 9. Now obviously that K/9 will regress, but I would not say he has been hit around. His ERA is inflated now due to sequencing (flukishly low 59% strand rate).

"Hit around" is a mild term here. Im not talking getting slaughtered. Im talking expectations and competition

He's faced 11th (MIL), 12th (CIN), and 14th (SD) worst hitting offenses in NL based on OPS. 10th (WAS), 11th, 13th, 14th based on AVG. Brewers and Pads top 2 teams in terms of K'ing

Yes those are my lowest. I also have sonny gray, Archer, Matt Harvey, Matz, and Jose Berrios. I dropped wright and picked him up.

Thanks for the responses.

Wright entered the day SP26 in your format, he will crack top 20 after tonight.

Monitor him bc Berrios and Manaea may not be there for the home stretch. Matz and NOLA shouldn't be on innings limit but I'd watch them too
