Every year we do a live draft, and we try to keep it at a good pace so that it doesnt take all night. Last year we tried to do a "if you take more than two minutes, you automatically draft the first kicker listed on the sticker page. This actually happened late in the draft and someone was forced to accept Akers. Turned out to be not so bad of a penalty considering it was late in the draft and how good Akers ended up being.

Does anyone else do something to help push things along? I am trying to avoid "skipping" them, but I would like to incentivize everyone from taking too long.

Thoughts?

Take too long, you take a shot.

Don't try to be a stickler during a live draft. Just sit back and enjoy it.

take a shot and force a pick immediately (like 5 seconds) or pass them over...

Simple you just get the highest player left on the board.

Just like the NFL draft

whenever "TIME" is called after a 5 secs countdown by keeper

Next team in line can select....the original team can still refrain from selecting even after he's been passed over...and he can select at any time he pleases.

So say I have the 5th pick in the draft...I can let my time run out...and wait...Mathews,Calvin,CJ,brady,MJD,DMAC,etc,etc...wait til my 2nd round pick if I wanted to and then yell out Graham and gronk, and get them both

When their time is up, the next team is on the board. The first team can still pick at anytime, but the draft goes on.

This actually happened to a guy last year who couldn't decide, then took a phone call before picking. By the time he hung up the phone, 3 other teams had already picked. Didn't really matter since it was a later pick and he still got one of the guys he was considering, but it was a good opportunity to let everyone know we were serious about the rule.

ETA: Just like Jahel said. Maybe I shouldn't have taken so much time typing all that crap...sort of like missing my pick.
