So over the last couple of years I've been trying to get more and more into baseball and figured this might be a good way to learn the game and players. Problem is I've got no idea where to begin. Thanks in advance and peace.

There's just so much information to be said that someone could write a whole novel for you... which would be overwhelming. I suggest you choose your setting(weekly or daily league), format(H2H standard, roto, points), and do a mock draft. It's easier to point out your strengths and weaknesses while giving you suggestions from there. Plus there's just so many contrasting styles to build a team that you'll get so many different opinions that you'll just be back to square one.

Just read a couple free articles on ESPN, maybe pick up a magazine at look at their rankings. Look at your league's settings and think about how you might put together a team to take advantage of those.
