I'm in a 14-team PPR league and in last place. I'm last in points and playing the highest scoring team so it seems no matter how I set my roster this week I will still likely get blown out. Here's my roster:
QB: Eli Manning
WR: Allen Robinson
WR: Stevie Johnson
RB: C.J. Anderson
RB: Ameer Abdullah
TE: Delanie Walker (on bye week)
WR/TE: Leonard Hankerson
Bench:
Dez Bryant (out)
Davante Adams (out)
Tevin Coleman (out)
Darren Sproles
Shane Vereen
Ronnie Hillman
Marcus Mariota (bye)

Potential pick ups/spot starts at TE:
Ladarius Green vs Cleveland (Still not cleared to play)
Zach Ertz @ Washington
Maxx Williams @ Pitt

So should I drop someone and try to pick up a TE just to get a few more points or should I just bite the bullet and leave my TE slot blank this week and take what will undoubtedly be a loss? There is no doubt in my mind that whoever I drop will be picked up immediately because there is nothing but garbage in free agency.

Trade Dez. He isn't going to help you down the stretch if you can't get to the stretch.

I went CJ, Dez, Abdullah, then Davante. RBs go ridiculously fast in our first few rounds and I had the 13th pick. I've had atleast 2 starters go down with injury every week so far. The only reasonable goal I have left is to avoid last place or hope that the next 6 teams ahead of me get injury plagued teams as well and I reach that 8th playoff spot by seasons end. But that is very wishful thinking.

Not telling you anything you don't know but you're pretty fricked because that team is beyond terrible. Even if Dez was healthy it wouldn't be very good.

Just bad luck that Dez got hurt and Anderson has been shite. But with that being said, you can't go down without a fight. And that's what you would be doing if you were to not play a TE and guarantee yourself a 0-4 start. It will be tough because there isn't much there to work with, but start doing whatever you can to package your players for upgrades in the starting lineup. I would start with Abdullah and a WR, then input Sproles into your lineup and hope CJ turns it around. You aren't going to get anything great, but just need to hit on a serviceable starter and hope for some luck. But you need to start making moves now if you want even a small chance.

I agree. It's time to start taking chances because I really have nothing left to lose. As for a bye week fill in, who would you suggest I drop?
