When comparing cumulative vs. ratio stats I usually agree that streaming could be an issue, but isn't it harder to stream for offensive categories (outside of steals)?

Get a hit, get a base...don't see how that's difficult.

That's fine if you think so. Not everyone adheres to the same rules and principles. Some people aren't as lazy as others either.

Well obviously, but if someone tries to capture that category by rolling through Ryan Theriot types, they'll lose.

If streaming is part of the game why cap weekly transactions?

If you did 2B though, this gives a bigger value to guys who have power/speed. This top 10 list is definitely different from the top 10 in HR list.

Can we make a category called "2B/3B"? When you hit one of those you get 1 "2B/3B"?

Because it can get out of control and water down the quality of the league. I mean no one wants to see a few owners running through a billion players a week. At the same time, it's a useful strategic tool to use as well. Moderation is key.

I was in a league way back in the day where the commissioner wanted to recognize fielding so he included an Assists category - you get an assist if you throw participate in putting out the runner. As you'd imagine the value of 2Bs and SSs went through the roof as the season went along and people figured out the stat.

Is snake draft really a viable option for a 16-20 team league... really?

I don't hate auctions and I understand their benefit, but let me throw out a few issues:

1) I think it would be unrealistic to get everyone together in person.
2) I hate online auctions. You're too reliant on internet connections and software response to get a quick bid in. Maybe I'm jaded by RTSports.
3) I dislike the way owners can frick with the market during the auction. I prefer seeing who is available and grabbing them without outside interference.
4) A snake draft is more deliberate. An auction is a grind where you have little time to think or collect information. There would be a shite-ton of picks in a startup draft for this league. I'd need methamphetamines to make it through.

Once again, I'm not killing the idea, it's just wrought with potential issues.

I agree with all of this.

I'm cool with either, but a 20 team auction may take all day. That would be the only downside to me.

Not may, it will especially with having a minor league portion as well. It would be extremely hard to get a large group if owners to clear their schedule on a particular day for that amount of time.
