What's the consensus on him for this year?

I think with that line anyone who gets 15-18 carries a game could put up top 12 RB numbers.

If DMac is a non factor to me he's right there with Forsett and Ingram on the RB list and I could see taking him late 3rd to mid 4th.

Thoughts?

For me, he is above ingram, but below forsett.

Which means i like him. If he gets 15 carries a game, i think he produces. Im more wondering if he is gonna get any 3rd down pass catching chances

I think there are some positives to look at like the O line and he has the tools to be a tier 2 type back but the biggest question mark is can he hold up all year and carry the load. Forrest Gump said it best Joseph Randle is like a box of chocolates you never know what your gonna get this year.

Even with that awesome o-line the whole dallas backfield is a huge question mark. I'm be looking for more information during training camp to get some idea of who is going to be the starter.

If the starter can hold up throughout the season then that o-line will make them a top 20 back.......

If he's available in round 5+, I'll take him but... Yeah, not really feeling that backfield. Or Cleveland's. Or Houston's. Or St. Louis'. Or Atlanta's.

They would be better off signing or trading for another RB before the season gets underway. If anything, Tony Romo will benefit the most from the offensive line, not the RBs

I for one am very bullish on Randle. I'll be playing him heavily in the early weeks of DFS before everyone catches on. He's looked very good with limited carries.

Obviously he's a bigger risk in traditional leagues but has the highest ceiling of any RB2 IMO.

Me too. I think he'll be a solid #2 starter.

This is pretty much my thought. 3rd/4th round too steep of a price for me. If I can get him cheap in an auction, that's different.

Personally, I think Lance Dunbar is the best RB in that backfield. He's undersized though so he wont get much workload, but probably just enough to eat into Randle's stats to make people frustrated.

think it will be a RBBC in DAllas for the most part. He should get the most carries, but wont be enough. i dont like his build either

I have been asking the same question. I live in Dallas. There's a guy I work with who knows everything about the Cowboys. So I asked who was going to get the carries this year. He has said a lot of things, but none of them indicates that he thinks that JR will emerge as a featured back or that he'll enjoy that position all season.

Hopefully this thing will sort itself out in the preseason because I see a fantasy opportunity here.

15 carries/game is 240 for a season. I see him more around the 200-220 carry mark. He should produce behind that line when he touches the ball, but I don't foresee a full time RB workload

All depends on his ball security. Apparently, he's not taking care of the ball in practice according to a few reporters. A big if for me.

the thing that stood out to me besides the boat load of carries Murray got last year... that guy ran hard.

I mean, that is tough to replace. So if they do go RBBC who knows how Randle's year will go. He'd probably have a few good games but he'd probably lay an egg a lot too.

just a guess.

Price tag is too high

6th round or so is a lot more reasonable

Dallas HAS to add another RB, so i wouldnt waste too early of a pick on Randle. DMac is made of glass and might not even make the team because of it. They willl have to add another RB, probably a veteran journeyman RB.
