Was leaning Bell for awhile but now I'm up to a coin flip. What say you fantasy board?

I love DJ but I would rather have Bell. I trust Pittsburgh's offense more than I do AZ but it's really splitting hairs.

Johnson

Which is more likely to do something stupid and get suspended?

I think that Bell has more upside, but he also has more risk because of suspension and injury history. I would pick Johnson, but you can't really knock picking either one.

1A and 1B. It doesn't matter. Pick one and be happy

I would lean DJ though because like others said, injury and suspension history with Bell

I'd take DJ. He should get a ton of volume. Pitt's offense is definitely better, but there are a lot of mouths to feed with Brown and an unsuspended Martavis.

I'm a heavy lean to Johnson for all of the same reasons already mentioned. However, just to play devil's advocate, I had Bell last year in a .5 ppr league and he would give me 20 points every game even though he didn't score many TDs when he first came back. IF he stays on the field, I feel like he scores more TDs this year and IMO Johnson won't score 20 times again. Just something to think about.

Honestly, pick one or the other and you can't go wrong. If you ask me the better player, to me it's Bell. David Johnson is a safe pick because he doesn't have injury/suspension history like Bell does. But like I said, pick one and you'll be a winner.

I was initially leaning toward DJ but I have found that in my mocks a lot of the guys who are available to me in the 2nd/3rd have a lot of week 8 byes (Gurley, Fournette). Is it reasonable to go with Bell for his week 9 bye to spread it out or just go for it?

IMO you shouldn't even be paying attention to bye weeks when you draft. You take the best available player, regardless of his bye. Bye weeks MIGHT cost you a week or two and that's if you just have a terrible bench and can't plug anyone in to replace. Who is to say your opponent isnt in the same predicament that week? It's too situational to worry about.

That being said, take Johnson and call it a day.

My thoughts as well although I was considering going 3 RB with DJ, Fournette, and Gurley (all of whom have week 8 byes) if all 3 are available. But i guess that would just only screw with my week 8 and everything else would be fine.

Injury history means some chronic injury, to me. Two or more ACLs on the same knee, concussions, etc

Bells main injury is a torn MCL, which is pretty common and doesn't linger

DJ had a sprained MCL

Also it's very unlikely Bell gets suspended again. He seems very contrite if you read what he said last year. No BS blaming someone else, he owned up to missing the drug test

I just can't find a reason to go DJ over Bell without some serious reaching. Bell has proven to be the best Fantasy back in the L for 3 seasons
