Ivory as a #1 waiver claim? Given what we know about Fournette and his ankles?

I'm sitting on a #1 waiver claim, and I'm hurting at RB. With Fournette having previous ankle issues, and likely pushing to play no matter what (of course he says he's fine), I can see a scenario where he's out of the game in the 1st quarter and Ivory assumes the lead back role in Jax. I know it's a dart throw, but I'm 2-4 and need to hit the jackpot. Plus Ivory would have longer term value if LF7 sits any future games.

I just know someone will snag him if I don't. What do ya'll think? I need wins now, and I'm not sure how much value that #1 spot has going forward. Is there time for any more no brainer/plug and play #1 adds this season? Should I pass and continue to sit on the #1 claim?

Or you could just get him as a FA

In this league I'm sure he'll get picked up. Backup RB's are almost all claimed as handcuffs and lottery tickets, plus he had a big game last week, so he'll get plucked. I'm rolling with Ty and Coleman at RB. Have RB's Morris, Mack, West and Foreman on my bench.

If the Fournette owner doesn't pick Ivory up, that's a mistake IMO. That said, I wouldn't waste a waiver priority on a handcuff if I don't own the RB1.

FWIW the Fournette owner is in 4th place but his team is a little shaky. I could frick him a little by taking Ivory...

Take ivory and package him with another player and get a RB from fournette’s owner if he’s willing to trade

He’s already a top 30 RB PPR. He’s rostered in all of my leagues

He’s a guy you’d burn the priority on if LF got hurt. Add now and it’s still early enough to where you can work up to the #1 spot

Or I could screw my opponent this week who has weak WR's by picking up the best available WR on waivers? He's got K. Allen and Kearse as his only startable WR's currently on his roster.

Seriously, desperation mode has kicked in. I need every advantage possible.

I love this idea if your league is open to trades. They're very rare in my league unfortunately.

They happen occasionally in my league

But there’s one guy, who everytime a trade is mentioned, tries to shite on everyone and make them rethink it, which causes overthinking, which results in no trades

Thanks Dale, I know you’re reading this

I'm having some second thoughts tonight. Anyone else have any thoughts about blowing the #1 waiver claim on a gamble like this?

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is if anyone expects any can't miss waiver guys to pop up this late in the season if I decide to sit on it.

I'm not saying it's going to happen, but David Johnson was available very late last season.
