In a ROTISS league..

To just carry as many closers as possible and spot start starting pitching off the free agency list.. and play matchups.

My league is bitching their heads off at me for it, but I don't see how it is bush league. It's called strategy IMHO.. and I'm taking a huge risk by playing non elite pitchers.. Currently I lead in saves and K's, but I am last or near last in whip, wins, and ERA..

I thought the whole point of fantasy sports was to play matchups.

I've seen it done several times in the past, and it's never ever worked.

Good luck.

thank you.

it worked out for me last year but i did have strasburg as my only SP keeper all season.. and the league wasn't very competitive. and i won it more so on offensive categories.

even the commish of my league now is calling me "dirty" and i just wanted to know if it's really that bush league.

this is my team and the pitching is nothing to gripe about.. there are 9 starting spots for pitching. there are ONLY 3 bench slots so I have no other pitchers stashed.

It's not bush league. It's your team. If it doesn't break any rules, tell the other guys to get fricked.

thank you!

and again like i told them also there is not even enough bench room to maneuver or finaggle this to be such an advantage. i was on my a-game picking up chapman way back when no one had him.. and was actually using him to lower my era.

i can barely afford to make 1 SP start a day given the lack of bench depth.. they are so bitter.

these are the current standings. i am in 3rd.

I always feel like if it's not against the rules, then go for it.

At some point aren't you going to be so far in front in Saves that this becomes a losing strategy? It's probably overall a losing strategy anyway considering your Wins, ERA and WHIP scores, but the ERA and WHIP could come down as you pick good spot starts and get innings from relievers.

Unless there was a rule put in place to stop you from starting multiple closers I would say its fair game. If they dont like it they should make a rule where you have to start X amount of SP, X amount of RP, and X amount of P. Most leagues I play in start 4 SP, 2 RP, and 1 P or 2 SP, 2 RP and 3 P and put a limit to the amount of FA acquisitions you can add for that season to limit streaming 2 start pitchers. If there were dumb enough to put all your pitching spots as P and didnt specify then keep it up. If it dont work you can always trade some of those guys for SP since you seem to have closers on lock down.

well we play 25 in a H2H format. But most roto leagues have a minimum to prevent things like this guy is doing.

yeah. I was just curious as to what other leagues have set as the min IP.

I thought 18 was going to be just a little too low but it has worked out great.
