Is Gronk a reach at 4th overall?

I really want him and don't want to have to face him during the season, but I've seen him slip into the second round in some drafts. If I don't take him at 4 idk if I'll get another chance at him. Thoughts?
It's a 10 person PPR league. It is a snake draft

PPR? I personally don't think he's worth it. Youre 4th in a snake draft? He prlly wont make it back to you so if you really want him you better take him. I would prefer Julio/OBJ/Gurley right there (ppr).

Hell no esp with Brady's suspension. TE is deep this year imo

It might be wishful thinking to have Julio or OBJ available at pick 4.

If you want him that bad, try to switch positions with someone at the end of the draft. I'm sure someone would love to move up to a top 4 pick

Yeah OBJ has not lasted after the 2nd pick in most drafts, there's a better chance at Julio than OBJ there. I starting to lean towards Julio over Gurley, the NFC South isn't as good as the NFC West. This is all assuming that Juio lasts past the 3rd pick

He averages 17+ ppg I don't think it's ever a reach

Top 4 are Brown, Julio, Odell and Hopkins. In that order.
Take whoever is left, unless Odell or Julio fall to you. AB won't.

Peterson, Gurley, Brown, Julio, OBJ, and David Johnson apparently (I don't get that) could all go anywhere in the top 5 in any order.

Depends on how many teams make the playoffs.
6? I wouldn't be against it. 4? No way.

He would have finished WR13 if you jumble him with WR.
Even with that said, 3 TE finished within 20 total points of him. With Brady missing 4 games taking him at 4 is terrible value

I'm not positive that's going to make a difference. He's an easy target for a crappy qb to dish to also, there's potential it would increase his numbers the first 4 games as a new qb is less likely to throw to crappy wrs.
Also, It's more likely the pats will have to play hard their last 4 games and bigger numbers will need to be put up.
You are probably right, but I'm not sure it's a guarantee.

The TDs separate Gronk from the pack. If I recall correctly, he wasn't even top 5 in catches last year. I seem to think he was somewhere around 10th (72 catches, just don't recall the rank). The Brady suspension is going to hurt that number.
It all depends on strategy. If you want an overall advantage at the TE position in your league, maybe take him first round. However, I'd have a difficult time justifying taking him 4th overall.
People usually adopt the same strategy for TEs and they do QBs. Either be one of the first to take one, or be one of the last. I've seen people go for #1 ranked QB and TE in the opening rounds, and I guess it can work (any strategy can). It's not for me, but to each their own.

give Brady some respect. There might not be a better seam thrower in the NFL. And that is where Gronk eats.
Garopolo may be decent but im not taking Gronk 4th overall with that dude throwing him the ball for 4 games. Only way im taking Gronk in the first if i have pick 12 in the 1st round

I'll add my thoughts... 10-team PPR, you have 4th pick.
No, do not take Gronk #4 OA unless your league has 2TE spots (I'm not talking Flex spot, I literally mean 2 TE spots). Injury concerns/Brady suspension aside, while Gronk is awesome, 17+ ppg 5 years running, his value is deflated by only having to start 1 TE.
You league is likely 1QB, 2RB, 2(3)WR, TE, Flex.
In that league structure you should go RB or WR with that pick. If it's 3WR, definitely go WR. Who you pick is up to you... Gurley, DJ, Nuk, Dez, AJG (assuming AB84, Julio, OBJ are gone).
Even though it's 10-team and every squad should be pretty loaded, you want to be ahead of the curve with that draft-spot. Taking Gronk there defeats that purpose and lowers your ceiling. I don't play 10-team leagues, but if I did, I wouldn't take Gronk 1st round period. But if I was picking towards the end of draft order, I could wrap around with Gronk in 2nd -- maybe.
Point being, in 12+ team leagues Gronk has more value. He has much more value in 2TE leagues as well.
