He's a basically a lock for top 5 every year. The problem last season was he wasn't completely healthy based on reports, and the offensive line was horrendous. Unger is legit, Armstead is looking even better. The line looks to be much improved. If he has time to throw he will put up huge numbers.

I agree. The national media narrative about Brees declining and Saints re-balancing their offense just has a life of it's own now.

Brees will have 650 or so attempts again this season, just like he has 7 of the last 9 years. Even in 2009 when Brees only had 514 attempts (in 15 games), he averaged over 24ppg FF.

I personally think that's probably reasonable, but his stock is rising by the day, especially in any form of PPR.

I drafted in a 10-man full PPR league on Sunday with some pretty educated drafters. Cooks went 23rd overall and I almost took him 21st but took T.Y. instead. He was the 10th receiver taken.

I guess my point is there is a good chance that he won't be there.

I don't necessarily think Brees is a Top 5 lock, but it won't be because he fell off a cliff, it'll be because someone else unexpected has a stellar season.

Boom's contention that Brees will finish with his worst FF season since being a Saint would put him <19.3ppg. That would have been QB14 last year.

You should bet him that Brees finishes above QB14 since that was his earlier statement.

I'm more than a little confident that this is gonna be Brees worst fantasy season as a Saint.

Worse than every year but the one you're referencing. Def the worst in the last 5-6 yrs.

His 2nd worst is 19.5ppg from 2007 (would be QB13 last year). So is that the bet?

His lowest in last 5-6 years is 20.9ppg in 2010 (would be QB8 last year). Is that the bet?

I just want the rake from you and Coco's wager. 10%.

He was 5th last year and I don't see how he improves much this year with that receiving group. Someone will overtake him.

Top 6 QBs
Luck
Rodgers
Wilson
Brees
Roethlisberger
Manning

If you think Brees is starting to falter, take a look at Manning in the 2H last year. He scored only 115 points over his last 6 starts. Brees, otoh, scored 158 over the same 6 weeks.

The excuse is Manning had some injuries in the 2H? Sure, and Brees had injuries last year, too, but Manning is starting to show his age late in the year with some real un-Peyton like games.
