How would you handle this as commissioner? (collusion)

Team A is mathematically out of the playoffs so they alter their starting lineup yesterday morning in order to help their friend they're playing against. They pull out a top 5 RB and put in Jonas Gray. They also pull out Hopkins and put in Fitzgerald who is Inactive/ OUT for the 2nd straight week (was on their bench last week). They also leave Hoyer in as starting QB instead of putting Roethlisberger back in after being on bye last week. Hoyer was picked up the previous week as an obvious one-week starter.

Bottom line is this action is going to put the friend in the playoffs and remove another team.

You're the commissioner, how do you handle it?

Can't do much about it this year imo but I wouldn't let either of them play in the league again.

Both would be gone and they would both get a phone call with a heated discussion.

Call and ask him to explain his actions. If he admits to leaving those players out on purpose, adjust his lineup and put them back in.

Do this. Try to get the real result first then take a vote on whether he should be kicked from the league or not.

They are saying they paid their fee and can do whatever thy want with their lineup.

I don't agree but that's their angle

So they admitted to collusion?

ETA: If so and if they're being dicks about being called out on it, give them their money back and kick them out now.

This. Just make sure the rest of the league is on board with it and then I wouldn't invite them next year.

If their answer is "We paid our dues, we can do whatever we want", frick both of them. Don't invite either one back next year

It's better if they do.

+1

is this a newly formed league or one with guys who haven't played much? Seems like there's no way an established league would be having the types of issues.

"Supposedly" team A acted alone, team B (the beneficiary) is claiming he didn't even talk to team A.

Either way, the deed was done and its going to remove another team from the playoffs and put team B in. The act itself needs to be addressed whether they were in on it together or not. Its the same result in the end.

Set his lineup to the optimum for this last week. Lock his team. Don't allow back next year.

I've never actually been commissioner of a league, so I don't know if this is an option. But it is what should be done.

It's a 20+ year running league with mostly all teams being personal friends including these two guys.

If Team A admits to it, go in as LM and put the players back in.

How much is the buy in?
