I'd rather musgrove. To each their own though

Williams being a shithead sucks too. Kinda knocked him down a notch for me

I hated IP before we even played a game. I've played fantasy since 1996 and it's honestly the worst stat category in any league I've ever played in.

It's weird cause this is prob my fav league. But every time I lose that cat after WTPwning every other pitching category I contemplate turning in my team at the end of the year. It really is that useless of a category and it's sad people aren't even open to trying to find a better alternative

It wasn't part of my draft strategy, but it's part of my week to week strategy.

ETA: LE channeling some Redd-type of anger right there.

of course. I dont even have to look but my guess is your other pitching numbers are shitty. Same with Rondo. All the teams with shitty pitching love it. Which is shocking why Daryl James keeps fighting for it, but maybe he is just that clueless

It actually is less beneficial to me, but I did draft based on the category. I drafted pitching late instead of taking some flyers late in the draft.

I've been trying to analyze the whole IP thing

The average era of the top 8 teams in IP is 4+. So in essence the heavy IP cancels out the ERA of a team with a good staff who isn't just throwing trash to rack up ip

Then the bulk IP guys are also leading QS, so there is your advantage over a shortened quality staff without as many starts. Of course 3 ER in 6 IP is a 4.50 era - so ya get rewarded for your ABOVE league average ERA, get your QS, AND get up on IP

Then you could argue QS is already measuring IP

Of course it all boils down to who can play the flawed system the best

It would be nice if we just left the rules as is for once in one of these leagues and didn't have the yearly bitchfest. We all benefit and suffer equally under the scoring system and you can pull whichever levers you want in order to win. It's not complicated and it doesn't require a yearly re-write.

And I'd like to remind everyone of what happened in TDBL...the keeper number was 10. A couple of guys had good years the first year and wanted to up the number to 12. They convinced enough lemmings to go along with them. A few years later when their teams started to suck because they built them with old players, they quit. I'd be careful about following these pied pipers over the cliff for their sole, short term benefit.

I'm not pushing to change anything. Can't really do that in a dynasty league

Damn, Familia went like 50+ outings without a blown save and has now blown two in two days.
