Fantasy Venting: Commissioner decides last minute its no longer a money league

Some have already heard me complain about this league im in. I was asked by one of my best friends to be in a league with some of his coworkers. It was the day before the draft, they needed a tenth so i said sure. $25 buy-in so not too serious but still some money in it to make it sweet.
The rules were some of the strangest i had ever seen but i held my tongue and played along
So going into this week, i find myself in 2nd place with the highest points total so i've got a pretty good shot to win.
the commissioner (who i've only met once and is currently in last place) sends an email today saying that he only collected money from 4 people and didnt have the time to track down everyone else, so he's decided that the league will be free this year and those 4 (including me) will get their money back
im so pissed

B.S. Tell him to honor his word and that whoever wins can collect the money.

yea i really dont know how to handle this
the only guy i know well in the league is my buddy and he thinks its bull shite but knows that the rest of the guys in the league probably dont care enough to back us on making him force everyone to pay
i think my buddy is planning on messaging everybody that he is starting a new league next year and only the people that paid this year are invited

Not how it should work. It's commish's job to collect money. Pretty much his ONLY job.
I would tell your best friend to give this dude hell, tell him to collect the money.

I would be pretty livid. Commissioner should have told you that at the beginning of the season.
I'm pseudo financeer /commish for my league and I hounded people for Weeks 1-2. Called the 2 people that didn't pay out on the message board, did the whole "these guys are the reason we won't be playing for money", etc. Commissioner should have notified you MUCH earlier.

That's some candy arse shite. I bet he would have been better collecting the money if he had a better team.
