I'm completely new to fantasy basketball and our draft is tonight. Is there any position that is the most valuable, like a running back in fantasy football? Is it recommend to draft a point guard first? Center? I know a ton about the NBA, but I really have no idea about how fantasy basketball usually works.

Standard scoring, sorry.

what kind of scoring system?

not really but there are positions that are much deeper than others. SG is extremely shallow while you can find many bigs that put up similar numbers

So would you recommend going SG in the first and waiting to pick a center?

Here's a pretty good article from ESPN about it LINK
I don't consider myself a Fantasy Basketball guru by any means, but I had the 7th out of 10 picks and went Love/Rose as I felt they both cover the majority of categories. If Love was gone I would have went Irving/Davis.

i'm not too sure what standard scoring is?

only scoring I've ever used is a points league so if it's not that I won't be any help to you

Thanks for the link dude I'll check it out.

It's 1 point for:
Point, rebound, steal, assist, block, field goal made, and free throws made
-1 point for:
Turnover, field goal attempted, free throw attempted.

So yeah I guess it's a points league

Wow a single point is equivalent of blocks and steals?! Get high scoring shooters.

Irving
Klay Thompson
Jeff Green
A. Davis
Hibbert

AD and Irving all day
Also first draft.

In my league there are separate categories for Off. Rebounds and Def. Rebounds, so that makes big men more valuable.

In Basketball draft, i usually just draft BPA. Dont really care about position.
