Anybody rolling with Eifert tomorrow?

I'm thinking about starting him over Ertz.

Seems to be healthy....guess we will see..

No idea why you roster 2 tight ends

IMO, if Eifert is healthy, he is clearly the better play every week.

You clearly haven't owned Jordan Reed or Tyler Eifert haha.

Their permanent status every week is questionable.

I own Eifert and Gronk with no backups. If they can't play I'll stream

Ertz

Almost no one else for Carson to throw to and they started connecting a lot at the end of last season

Separate leagues?

You both make great points really. It's all preference. I got Henry in the 10th and since he isn't proven I took a flyer on Hooper in the last round. If either turns out to be a top 10 player, I will drop the other.

However, if you find that your are weak in another area after the first couple of weeks or a player like OBJ or Jordan Howard or something comes along, you definitely drop that 2nd TE IMO.

I just think you build a stronger overall roster without 2 TE is all. Gives me an extra spot to roster a guy that could break out.

thought that was obvious with the plural "backups"

Question. How many teams are in your league? If it's only 10, then you absolutely do not need two TEs. I would keep Eifert in that scenario and then stream if something happens to him.

Honestly even though it's a 10 team I'd hold them both this week and hope both have a huge game and trade Ertz to a guy who's TE had a bad week

No doubt. Now that you already have them, try to get some value for the one you decide to get rid of.

Came across this in my Fantasy Stream.

CSN Fantasy Sports @CSNFantasy
Ertz. Redskins allowed 106 REC and 1,100 YDS to tight ends last season. Ertz is a strong TE play in Week 1.
JCNA007 @jcna007
@CSNFantasy Zach Ertz or Tyler Eifert at TE this week?

This is what I think as well.

I also agree that drafting two TEs (which I'm assuming you did to get both of these guys) isn't a good move.

Now that you own both it's probably fine to keep them or maybe try to trade one. But you wasted valuable draft capital by taking them both IMO

Meh, in some cases it could be valuable draft capital. Some drafts are devoid of difference makers at that point

If you own Eifert or Reed or even Gronk, I'm not against taking a 2nd TE with upside. At that point in the draft, it's not crazy on talent. A guy like Ertz could put up number that puts him in the same class as a top 30 PPR WRs

I never draft Reed, but I took him in my last draft for shits and giggles. It came to a point in the later rounds where Eifert was the BPA imo, so I took him as a 2nd TE

A 2nd TE who is gates or njoku or someone like that is a waste

Eh. I guess it depends where he got them. They're both going in the 7-8th round in 12 teams leagues (9-10th in 10-team). Assuming they went near their ADP, he likely spent 2 picks between the 5th-11th on TEs. There are difference makers still there in those rounds (for example I got Melvin Gordon in the 8th last year). So it seems likely that he could have gotten someone with value instead of one of them.

Now, if he grabbed one of them in like the 14th, I agree with your point. But that's unlikely.
