Sup fellas. I am a weekly DEF streamer and didnt draft a DEF instead taking Ray Rice with my last pick as a joke. Turns out the Browns aren't writing him off, so I'd like to not drop him. Pick one and reason please. Many thanks!

E. Royal (CHI) - Like him alot this season with WR woes
D. Funchess (CAR) - Must roster for first few games to see if hes any good
T. Williams (DAL) - iffy run game means potential targets
R. Bush (SF) - C. Hyde hasnt been blowing it up
M. Jones (CIN) - alot of hype that could pan out.
R. Rice (Doghouse) - doghouse but could be a decent RB if picked since I am lacking RB depth.
R. Hillman (DEN) - Not convinced CJ keeps the job
Standard league.

Rice or Hillman.

Why not? He's the best RB on the team by a mile. Kubiak also sticks to one guy.

I read a piece last week by an "expert analyst" (will try to find and link) saying that he wouldnt be surprised in the least if R. Hillman isnt fantasy football relevant by mid season based off of some of whats going on.. IDK if he's just spitting off crap or if he has a "source". I picked up him 2nd to last just in case. Had him last year and he was clutch prior to injury.

I might be biased and the only one that thinks this, but I thought he ran better than CJ last season. More elusive. CJ was a beast late though.

I get what you are saying and can agree with some of it. Just a difference of opinion. Kubiak offense is what sways me because CJ is bigger and stronger and suited to the kubiak one cut and go system where RH is more of a scat back. CJ outweighs Hillman by 25+ LBS and is the same weight and style as Foster was in Houston.

I agree. He's more of a kubiak back. Just a little unknown and I am shackalackin in RB's. He's my RB sleeper... and Bush...

Yes

that said, any RB will have success in that system with Peyton Manning. Hillman will serve as the change of pace back and get some run, but wont have real value unless Anderson goes down.

As for Ray Rice, Cleveland is the last place you would want that guy to land. They already have a clusterfrick of 3 RBs and no clear cut RB1.

Hyde has carried the ball 13 times for 73 yards in the preseason. Averaging over 5 yards a carry is damn good in my book. It's preseason, but he is the clear starter.

Yeah... CLE sucks. I'll probably hold on to Rice until last minute and drop him if he isnt signed. If he does sign with CLE, i'll try to trade him.

I mean, you think you are holding this "lottery ticket" with Rice and there are 5 guys on that list that will actually play in the NFL this season and have the chance to be very good

Cleveland doesn't suck.
If they had a decent RB, he would do really well with their offensive line.

Why did Ronnie Hillman start over CJ last year after they had enough of Ball by week 3? Both were healthy.
Hillman looked good in the 4 games he started before he got hurt, especially as a pass catcher.

If Rice signs, I'd drop Hillman. He won't be productive even if he does get a shot.

John Fox's regime is over and Kubiak's offense is different.

RBs don't catch many passes in this offense so this is kind of a moot point.

Is Hillman a good back? Absolutely. Is he the back for this type of offense? Not every down.

Peyton runs his offense.

If you can catch, and you're a matchup problem, Petyon will throw you the ball. So will Brady, and so will Brees.
