Our league will vote on hi/low next week. We use yahoo. Does yahoo even allow this scoring setting? Or will we have to keep the standings "offsite"?

No one offers it. The commish has to manually switch the scores

This!

The commish will need to adjust the schedule at the end of each week so the top half plays against the bottom half. Sounds like a pain, but people on here have said it only takes a few minutes each week to adjust.

We are looking into a new scoring method in my league as well. Here is what I've proposed. Curious to get others thoughts in case I've missed something.

Each week players are ranked by score 1-12 and allocated points accordingly.
1: 6pts
2-3: 5pts
4-5: 4pts
6-7: 3pts
8-9: 2pts
10-11: 1pts
12: 0 pts

This method will carry thru week 13, top 6 to playoffs. 3 week playoff with the top 6 teams using similar scoring above to determine overall champion.

I think this rewards weekly top performers more than H/L.
It also rewards overall consistency vs total scoring where you may have a solid team for 6-7 weeks that puts up a point total no one can reach.
Lastly, it makes the playoffs more interesting as it spans 3 weeks so 1 off week doesn't completely eliminate a team.

Running some numbers to get the point totals best figured out but this is the general idea.
