*As always with my rankings, I don’t list my team to avoid being seen as non-objective*

Note: these are strictly post-draft rankings, and I did not take into account the ability for owners to improve their squads as the year progresses.

2015 Post-draft Rankings

PAPZ: Miguel Cabrera, Robinson Cano, Hanley Ramirez. That’s not a bad start. I love Starling Marte – he personally eliminated in RW3R, formerly SBL, in last year’s playoffs. I think he is one of the most underrated fantasy players, and I expect another jump from him – and I typically hate free swingers. Chris Davis is back on Adderall, it helps. Thirty home runs with 90 RBI? I think that is feasible.

I wish Papz had one more stability player to go along with Kyle Seager. Last year we would have said that player is Shin-Soo Choo, so we’ll see if he can be that guy again. Solid bench bats with speed and power guys.

Masahiro Tanaka could be a top-5 starter or he could be headed for Tommy John in May. I don’t think anyone reading this would be shocked byeither outcome. Tyson Ross has some injury risk as a No. 2, but Jake Arrieta or Alex Wood could both be called his No. 2.

Papz is punting saves.

THOMAS: TommySr put together a balanced roster, filled with a little bit of everything: power hitters, Edwin Encarnacion, Jay Bruce, Khris Davis and Albert Pujols; speed with Billy Hamilton; power pitching headlined by Chris Sale with a strong supporting cast in Jacob DeGrom and Zach Greinke.

Encarnacion and Victor Martinez should provide the RBI production, but I will question the OPS of the team – seems silly after mentioning those two. I think that is one category Tom will struggle to win each week.

CE: If his team stays healthy, it has the potential to be near the top of the standings come August. However, there is a lot of concern with guys with a history of injury: Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, Pablo Sandoval and David Ortiz is 39 years old. Throw in Garrett Richards (coming off an injury), Hisashi Iwakuma (people are speculating he wore down at the end of last year at 33 years old), and Yu Darvish with injury concern. Lots of risk on his team.

Offensively, I think he struggles in OPS category, but is a top player in each of the other hitting categories.

He has a strong nucleus of starting pitchers with a good enough back-end that should have him winning saves every so often.

FRAT: A Frat-ish team with up to five potential closers on opening day. Not a lot depth in the starting pitching department, but you can’t have both closers and top starting pitching. He’s got the power: Giancarlo Stanton, Jose Butista and Mark Trumbo. Should be decent in the stolen base category with Jose Andale Andale Arriba Arriba! Altuve.

Manny Machado and Yasiel Puig’s are my wildcards. If they play to their capabilities, and stay injury free, alongside Bautista and Stanton that becomes a tremendous core of bats.

I’d like for Frat to have one more veteran arm, but he has a few younger guys that have the potential to be top-30 starters. Will Drew Smyly make the next step? Can Colin McHugh repeat? How long does Carlos Rodon remain in the minors? Does Carlos Martinez make the rotation, and if so, what is his ceiling? I’d just like for him to have one more stable guy to go along with these upside plays.

LOUT: I like the hitters, but I question the pitching – especially the K/9. You should be competitive as long as Wainwright is good to go. James Paxton is an interesting arm with good upside, and Hyun-Jin Ryu is a strong No. 3. Relievers give me worry.

The hitting is fantastic with the potential to be one of the best in the league. Best outfield bats, and Josh Donaldson can be something special in Toronto.

I really like Jason Kipnis and Brandon Moss this year. I like that the speed guys also have some power.

BARRY: Top-notch pitching staff with great relief pitching to help the ratio numbers on a weekly basis. Clayton Kershaw is overwhelming to even the best hitters in the game, and Johnny Cueto gives Barry one of the better No. 2 starters in the league.

I like the hitters, and Barry has equipped himself with a ton of reliability with players such as Evan Longoria, Ian Desmond and Adam LaRoche. If Carlos Gonzalez is 2011-2013 CarGo, then Barry has his star hitter – I feel that is what he is missing.

Some moves need to be made, but Barry has a solid squad to work with in early-March.

HONKUS: I had no idea where to put Honk’s team. I see J.D. Martinez and Danny Santana not producing anywhere close that they did in 2014, and to a lesser extent Chris Carter. Then I envision Prince Fielder going back to 30 home run and 100 RBI, Adrian Beltre putting up north of 24 home runs this season. I just don’t know what to expect.

Not a lot of bats on the bench, although I really like the A.J. Pollock grab.

David Price struck out 271 batters in 2014 – yes, he did throw the most innings in all of baseball last season -- but I feel the fantasy community is not talking about that enough. To me, unlike Martinez and Santana, he has the skillset to repeat a gaudy number like that – maybe not the level of 270-plus, but still a strong K/9 rate.

The bullpen shapes us nicely headlined by Greg Holland.

Andrew Cashner and Carlos Carrasco each have the potential to be a solid No. 2 for Honkus.

MSU: MSU should never get skunked 10-0 in any week. I feel strongly confident in that. Felix Hernandez, Madison Bumgarner, Cole Hamels, Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg and Jordan Zimmerman? I know I’m punting QS against him. Why bother?

As for the hitters, he’s got some quality guys there, but not a whole lot depth. I feel confident that MSU will almost assuredly lose SBs each week. His one base stealer, Alcides Escobar, is blocked by Troy Tulowitzki.

PAPPS: I think this team has some problems. Hunter Pence is out for six weeks, sliding everyone up a place in the outfield pecking order, and I don’t think he has the depth to withstand it. I like Michael Brantley, but I expect some regression. I don’t think Javier Baez sticks in the majors, and I don’t know where Wilin Rosario fits in for the Rockies at the current moment.

Pitching wise, Jeff Samardzija is a low-end top-starter, so I think he’s fine there. And Jon Lester should complement him well after that. I think the WHIP and ERA is legit on Phil Hughes – he doesn’t walk anyone and pitches in a spacious ballpark – but the K/9 I loathe. Papps has some strong K/9 relievers with Craig Kimbrel headlining the way.

31: So strong at the top with Paul Godschmidt, Mike Trout, Anthony Rendon and Joey Votto. But not a lot of depth in filling out the rest of the lineup. Carl Crawford and Asdrubal Cabrera are penciled in as starters right now, with no backup behind them – unless Addison Russell gets the call early on to the Majors.

A plethora of first baseman with Goldy, Votto and I really like Brandon Belt. He has players that can steal bases in Trout, Harrison and Rendon, but I’m intrigued as to how 31 does in that category on a weekly basis.

On the mound, lots of good, talented young arms to play with headlined by Gerrit Cole. 31 doesn’t have any hurlers that are going be dominant consistently in WHIP and ERA, but he has six separate pitchers that are capable of being dominant on any giving outing.

GEAUX: Geaux believes his team is a contender, but I’m having a hard time seeing it as of March 6. He’s got a lot of great, young talent, and I can see an outside shot of him being a playoff team. Ryan Howard is currently slated in at his utility with no back up on the bench.

I love Michael Wacha, but I can’t get behind him being a team’s top pitcher in a 12-team league in early-March. I’m done with Justin Verlander; he doesn’t miss bats anymore.

Yah, I'd move CE all the way down to behind Papps with the Darvish news.

So many injury risk guys on that team.
