I have AP. I wouldnt accept that trade either.

Perfectly acceptable opinion, depending on your roster.
I just don't see declining this trade when you have stated you NEED to make a move and have that team/are that desperate at WR.

I probably wouldn't have accepted that. AP has huge name recognition, I'd try to get more. Desean weighs a buck sixty five and rice is a dumpster fire right now. He needs to make a move, but that's not likely going to help him much.

Well now I'm convinced.
Silly me for thinking getting/scoring more points would help.

I love when OPs get defensive.

I wouldn't do that if I was the guy with AP. He can find better WRs on the waiver than what he has now and still keep ap. Desean has been great but has been known to be very injury prone. Ray rice is absolute garbage right now, sorry to say. The combo of Brees and ap will win him some weeks alone.

Don't come here asking for advice or opinions, and then get all pissy when no one agrees with you. Quit being butthurt that the dude refused your shitty trade.

Me too. It's hilarious. Come in asking for advice then raise a stink when they don't agree.

Bitching? I'm disproving arguments with facts, so call it what you want. I'm set where I am and don't need to make moves unlike the other owner...just figured this would be a pretty easy win/win trade that I countered with.

Really? Because you sound desperate.

do you not agree he will be playing the rest of the season for his son?

This is stupid. AP plays his arse off every fricking snap. If there was going to be one emotionally charged game (ala Favre after Dad died), it would have been the last one. He isn't going to play harder now for an entire season (even if he had a relationship with his son).

To OP: if that were my team, I would probably take the trade. I think it makes him marginally better. But if he is sitting at 4-2 or better, I can see him not wanting to take on that risk. It's certainly not a no brainer like you're making it out to be.

After rethinking, you're probably right. I do admit that I was a bit defensive earlier in response to arguments that I don't think hold water (i.e. inconsistency, AP will play harder, etc). We all agree Rice is bad so far, and history says he's much better--seems like too much upside in this trade to pass up if I put myself in his shoes.

Other team is 4-2, but they just traded away Jordy Nelson to get Brees (others involved) before losing Julio for the season. The other owner wants to move Brees and keep AP, and I'd prefer the opposite.

Ultimately, he decided to trade Brees away for Torrey Smith and Alfred Morris...time will tell if that was better for him.

You mean a kid he didn't know until a week ago and had never met before? It is a tragedy but let's not act like AP had a relationship with the child

Yeah I saw some people calling him a bum and bastard and terrible father for playing on Sunday. He had just recently found out he had the child and then right before he was planning on meeting him, he's gone. I don't have kids and I honestly couldn't say if I would or wouldn't have been super distraught over losing one that I've never met and only knew existed a short while ago.

He's obviously dealing with some things as how his play was Sunday, but if it was AP Jr, I think he would have been out a game or two.
