Need some help guys. I have both of these defenses but need to drop one to pick up a kicker for this week. I have McManus but he is on bye week and would prefer to not drop him. Need some insight. TIA

What Kickers are available in your league?

Both those defenses have plus matchups this week although I would give a slight edge to STL. Anyone who saw MNF has to be licking their chops at the idea of Carolina D/ST playing Philly on a short week.

Mcmanus has been good but a WW option that is available in some leagues that also plays in a high octane offense is Chris Boswell. He was the no.1 rated kicker in last years draft. He should be getting Big Ben back in an offense that will move the ball almost at will.

I would heavily consider taking the hit at kicker and keeping both your defenses so you can continue to play matchups the rest of the way.

McManus is a good kicker but unlike Gostkowski or Haushcka I do not see him as undroppable. Boswell is a slight gamble but he has 24 points in 2 games, has yet to miss a kick and that is with Vick/Jones at QB.

The two best available kickers are Catanzaro and Bailey. After that they drop off significantly. I wish I had another option but With Big Ben and Dez injured and Forte and Emmanuel Sanders on Bye it limits my options.

Whichever defense you drop you will not be able to get back.

You will be streaming a backup the rest of the season.

I guess due to schedule I would keep STL and drop Carolina.

Carolina's next opponents include IND, GB, Philly, Dal, ATL, ATL, NO, NYG...all are teams that can put up points...with the potential for a dud defensive performance.

I think Carolina has the better D but a rougher schedule.

I picked up St. Louis last week when someone dropped them just for the heck of it. Like I said, I don't really have many other options. I agree Carolina has the better Defense but they have a harder upcoming schedule.

I agree with this.

If you can't find a way to keep both, wait until Sunday morning to drop one. That way they can't be picked up off waivers this week. They will fall into next week's waiver pool, and maybe you can get lucky and get them back - depending on your waiver priority and other owner's needs. Also, Car has indy week 9 and GB week 10, so they may not be a waiver target next week.

Is there anyway you can trade Carolina's Def? I agree with most that while Carolina has a good Def, the upcoming schedule could hinder their fantasy scoring and would be the better option to drop/trade.

I think this is what I am going to do. I only need a kicker for this week so once my matchup is over I will try to pick them back up
