Ok, here's the deal. I'm down 36 points. 1 PPR, 4 point passing TDs

He has Stafford. I have Brees and Calvin.

Do you think I would have a better shot putting Colston in and hope the Saints find a way to shut down Detroit( ).

Calvin gets shut down. Tate has the big game.

Dont bench your studs tho. Gotta go Calvin

he's essentially saying he is down so much that it would do him no good if calvin is scoring the tds, because it's always points for stafford.. so he may be best to just hope detroit is crap and roll with saints players.

i say go ahead and play calvin though.. and just hope brees has a monster game as well..

plus anything can happen. stafford could get hurt (not likely) more likely though brees and stafford will do well

but it is an interesting idea.. what if they were to shut down the lions passing game.. colston is so up and down.. 2 tds last game was nice.

i need 8 points tonight to advance to my championship. i have brees an colston.

Let's see... after a quick glance, Stafford and Calvin have scored within 6 points of each other in 10 of 13 games this season. And Calvin hasn't bested Stafford by more than 6 all season. So it's safe to assume their values are very much tied to each other, as expected.

So if we assume that Calvin equals his best advantage over stafford all season, you're still going to need Drew to put up 30 points to win. He's only done this twice all season.

So while I think Calvin is the better play. I think your best shot to win is to do like you said. Play Brees and Colston and hope that he gets a touchdown and Stafford has a bad game.

It's not about who might have a better game between CJ and Colston. If Calvin has a big game, then Stafford at least has a decent game as well. Statistically, you HAVE to play Colston and hope Detroit gets shut down. That fact alone makes me laugh, but if Colston catches 3 TD's, then Brees also has a huge game. By starting Calvin, you are shooting yourself in the foot.

My bad for sighing this, after actually reading your scenario and the posts in the thread, role with Colston and Brees.

brees has no protection. his td to colston doesn't even count.. and stafford is ripping the saints a new one.. without even using calvin atm

I, of course, went with Colston and Brees. It was the right (desperation) move.

Playing for 3rd place now.
