Are we going to see an increase in "Auction" style FFL's?

I was just listening to a few of my FF podcast and it seems like this style of league is growing more and more. I personally don't have a problem with it and think it adds another dimension to fantasy play.

How many of you play in this style of the league?

Probably.

To me it is more challenging than a snake and more fun. You get to pick who you want, but also have to be smart and manage your money.

Did my first auction league this year and I never want to go back to another form.

Ah, okay. The newest of my leagues is in year 1, where we went uncapped. We will have to adhere to cap next year for keepers/draft, so we'll see how it turns out. My value based draft approach lends itself well to auction format anyway, so my limited experience with auctions has been good.

And to answer your question, yes, I think we will. The ease of information has made everyone an armchair GM. I certainly think I know more than I actually do.

Id love to play an auction style league, but my main 2 leagues are over 10 years old and are filled with guys who arent about changing things. It was an act of congress to get most of the leagues to agree to go to a PPR format.

My big money league is switching over to Auction next year.

I heard its incredible and that once you go Auction you never go back. We shall see.

I kind of think the strong proponents of Auction format are those that pay the most attention and take it seriously, and are more successful as a result.

Auction drafts last longer as well. My best fantasy teams are from auction drafts. If you want two top 5 RBs (Charles & McCoy) you can spend your budget and get both them. That's if you believed they would be top 5 going into this season of course.

Sounds like my leagues

I finally converted 2 to PPR and they loved it

In the last two seasons, I converted them to auction and they love it.

It was met with skepticism but now everyone loves it.
