Anybody in a league where it's impossible to trade?

I'm loaded at RBs...DJ, Shady, Booker, Mathews. We only need to start 2. So I decided to shop Shady for a WR. This is standard league.
My WRs are Dez, DT88, Diggs, Rishard, Landry.
His RBs are awful. Gilislee, Dion Lewis, Kuhn, Matt Jones. He does have AJ and Julio at WR.
So I offered McCoy + Diggs for AJ or Julio. I thought he would give up Julio since ATL is on a bye this week. Nope. I got countered with Michael Thomas instead. He told me Thomas was the best WR on the saints and a future hall of famer. Good grief.

A high end RB1 and a WR2 is a "shite" offer?
Look at those RBs he's trotting out there. This deal makes his team better.

I offered someone Brandon Marshall, Lamar Miller and Martellus Bennett for Gronk.
This is to someone who starts Jeremy Hill and Tyler lockett every week, and has Eifert, and is somehow at .500 with his terrible team outside Elliott/Cooper/Fitz.

I would say that there's a reason that his team is so bad, and he has players like Kuhn rostered. He doesn't know what he is talking about. Also, I don't know the settings of this league, but you have players who should have probably been impossible to get all of them in a normal 12 team and maybe even 10 team league. I think it's fair to say that this just isn't a very competitive league.
BTW, It is pretty difficult to trade in my league. There is typically at most 2 trades total in a year. This year there were none which isn't too unusual, and we're already past the trade deadline. It's a pretty typical thing for people to overvalue the players who they have on their own teams.
Except this one guy who has a history of giving away players for nothing. Last year he traded Lamar Miller after his slow start for a wr4/5 type. I can't remember the exact player.I was tempted to veto it, but I know it wasn't cheating. The guy just panicked. It went a long way towards giving that guy he traded with a championship. If I would have known about the trade in advance I would have strongly advised him against making it, and I would have made a better counter offer. This year the same guy was about to trade away OBJ after a not even really that slow start. I randomly saw him talking about it with someone else on Facebook, but he didn't give details. I unsolicited advised him the sort of thing that he should be expecting back to trade away a player of that caliber. It might have been a bit of an a-hole move. I never got the complete details of it. I wonder if the offer was as bad as I think it probably was. He also had made a bad trade several years ago when he lucked into a championship caliber team in midseason that ruined his playoff chances. Luckily that year the team with which he traded wasn't very good, so it didn't unbalance things.
I guess the point of all this is that sometimes it's better to be in a league that doesn't trade.

How is it shite when shady + diggs wil outscore Julio + Gisele/Kuhn the rest of the year?

I think you should stay put. You're not deep enough at RB to ship Shady. Dez DT and Diggs are fine assuming this is a 12 team league

To be fair, Gisele won't be scoring very much ROS

i was speaking in more of a general sense, my brain can't really comprehend the the position of a team with fricking Kuhn rostered.

I'm with Castor, here. That is not a shite offer. It's not a bad offer. It's a fair offer. Julio has been somewhat up and down this year (more up than down, but still), and you're offering a strong RB1 plus a solid WR2/3 to a team starting an RB4 and an RB6. That's a fair offer.
I do agree with whomever said that it would leave the OP too thin at RB. I probably wouldn't make the trade. I would just try to hit the WW for a WR. Or I'd trade Booker for a WR2/3 straight up.

Unless this is a 14 team league or there are an excessive amounts of bench spots the dude could probably just waiver someone better than kuhn

For the record, the other guy is insane for turning down that offer. He'd rather start a handcuff (Gillislee), a player returning from injury to a questionable role (Lewis), a backup (Jones), and a FB (Kuhn) than Shady? The jump from any of those 4 RBs to Shady easily outweighs the drop from Julio to Diggs. Countering for Thomas is dumb. Thomas has been solid, but the original offer was more than fair and improved both teams.

Ya but you are speaking from the perspective of a guy that has a FB rostered / starting - clearly this dude does't give a frick and i don't think you can really comprehend their thought process.

And yet we're going into week 11 and Kuhn is on the dudes roster. If he wasn't a complete moron he would have waivered someone better a long time ago. When dealing with this moron, that is more than a fair trade offer. The flip side of this, is that this moron thinks michael thomas is a good counter offer to shady/diggs
I guess what I'm trying to say is, it was a decent offer to a non-moron.
