I know. Just saying, it doesn't tell me shite. It was his 1st game. Could be random, could start a trend. I think the fact he got 28 carries is rather important. I think he'll be a solid spot start with potential to be an every week RB2

I really wasn't all that impressed with Morris, but if he continues to be fed the ball he's a bell cow in a shallow pool. At the very least we know he's the goalline guy in what should be a pretty good offense

Give 80% of the RBs in the league the rock 28 times against the saints D and they will be able to muster up 96 yards...

Sure. How many other RBs got 28 carries & people are questioning if they are the starter?

I mean, he certainly got the workload which is hard to come by in the NFL nowadays so I give him a boost for that. However, he won't be the starter long if he averages 3.something YPC each game

has this been the issue with Shann? Does he only want RBs who can carry 30 times a game. If so, I don't think Helu will get another shot, and will just be a filler,3rd down back.

On the road against one of the NfL's better team and they didn't remove him for either veteran behind him As they tried to hold the lead

Maybe he'll end up being really good this season. The high number of carries is definitely a great sign. But this thread is about his current value, and whether it's deserved or not the popular opinion on Shanahan and his RBs combined with rotoworld and these other sites criticizing Morris has his current value pretty low.

im not even saying he'll be really good. But i think most weeks he'll be start-able.

as long as he is getting carries, he is valuable. I dont really care what rotoworld says. He looked good around the goaline and short yardage, so i could see some TDs in the future. I dont think i was that drunk, but we'll see.

Main point is, he is a starting running back getting a lot of carries. They are hard to find.

Morris has way more value than guys like Ogletree, Cobb, Hill etc.

Shanahan has produced a lot of great fantasy RBs. Look up Clinton Portis, olandis Gary, and mike Anderson. Make sure and look at their rookie years.

I like how people act like Shanahan started coaching 2 or 3 years ago because he couldn't decide what shitty RB to play

This. I bid $20 to land Morris ($50 real $ auction FA pot) bc I feel it is definitely worth the risk given Shanahan's history with RBs. 28 carries is important when other fresh guys were definitely available.

Ogletree, Hill, Cobb had big games but they could be 1 week wonders. Its really hard to say a guy who got 28 touches week 1 and was productive will not get the work the next week.

As long as he plays for Shanahan it will be a question mark every week.

Hightower has 2 games with 20+ carries in his career under Shanny.

I'm confused at your point?

RBs don't get 20 carries anymore. The ones that do are the minority.

Hightower only played in 5 games and he got hurt in one. So him getting 20 carries in two out of 5 games tells me "he was the guy."
