Alfred Morris Value

Got him on waivers but is he the kind of guy you sit WK1 flex starters for (Decker)? Or wait to see how he does in week 2?

re: Alfred Morris Value
He plays St. Louis (bad run defense) and they will be trying to stop RG3. I say start him.

Definitely worth a start this week.

re: Alfred Morris Value
Only if someone was willing to over pay significantly would I trade ALF. This is a guy the Redskins' coaching staff saw first hand in the North South practices at the senior bowl. They drafted him, moved him to RB and he's been their best back since.

Shanahan wants an in between the tackles runner like him.

re: Alfred Morris Value
If you had any of the Redskin RB last year you would know that when Scam-a-ham says that he is the go-to guy, then he likely wont start or maybe see only 5+ carries. But hey, that was last year...

re: Alfred Morris Value
Shanahan has produced a lot of great fantasy RBs. Look up Clinton Portis, olandis Gary, and mike Anderson. Make sure and look at their rookie years.

I like how people act like Shanahan started coaching 2 or 3 years ago because he couldn't decide what shitty RB to play

re: Alfred Morris Value
Hightower was his guy until he got hurt.

17 attempts per game before the injury.

He does not think Helu is anything more than a 3rd down back.

I can't decide whether or not to start him over either Lynch or Martin.

re: Alfred Morris Value
Morris is pretty bad though. I've read several columns that broke down the tape of all of his carries and all called him a plodder who got what was blocked and nothing more. Helu is a more dynamic player, just hasn't been healthy

re: Alfred Morris Value
That's what im sayin he had 28 carries for 96 yards. I think Shanahan is gonna start playing around with helu and royster

That's what Shanny likes. He likes guys who take what is blocked. Chris Johnson would be on the bench in his system.

Again, Hightower averaged 17 carries a game before he got hurt.

Shanny does not like Helu nor Royster. People don't understand this.

re: Alfred Morris Value
post the columns, id like to read.

he doesnt look like a plodder. HE is a 1 cut and go guy, but he looks quick. He was a 4.65 guy in the 40.

Royster is a plodder. Helu is fragile and 3rd down back.

Morris is not horrible. id almost bet he leads them in rushing this year

yea, it doesnt mean shite for this year.

His track record as a coach proves he'd rather 1 back than 3.

Morris got 28 carries, as a rookie, in his 1st game. That doesn't make a light go off? Film said he was horrible? Why didnt he ever come out the game?

Alfred Morris, RB, Washington Redskins (owned in 18.2 percent of ESPN.com leagues): There are two reasons to be skeptical about Morris, a sixth-round rookie out of Florida Atlantic: one obvious and one less so. Obviously, Mike Shanahan enjoys tinkering with his backfield, so the fact that Morris got 28 of Washington's 34 running back carries Sunday (for 96 yards and two scores) is tough to rely on going forward. Less obviously, having watched the film, I can say that Morris is a powerful rusher who's almost completely uninspiring in his talent. I counted exactly one play against the New Orleans Saints where Morris actually put his foot hard into the ground and cut to make someone miss. His best play came on his second touchdown, when he blew up David Hawthorne on the goal line in a one-on-one confrontation. Morris does get what's blocked, but he doesn't get any more than that. In the first half, he had nine carries for 19 yards, and 22 of his 28 totes went for 3 yards or less. Still, you don't find too many guys leading the NFL in carries on the waiver wire.
