The Stranger. It's when you sit on your hand until it's numb and then... Never mind

Won this week and picked up 6 spots

In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven't, the Rowdy Burns Team has managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.

Talladega points to ponder and making picks.

Of the 9 races so far this season, Toyota has won 5 (including Daytona - the only other plate race), Chevrolet has won 3 and Ford 1.

The 4 fastest races this year were:
1)Daytona at 157.549 mph won by Hamlin (JGR Toyota)
2)Atlanta at 155.863 mph won by Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Cheverolet)
3) Texas at 138.355 mph won by Kyle Busch (JGR Toyota)
4) Fontana at 137.213 mph won by Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Chevrolet).

Daytona is the only plate race so far this year and with the new aero package on the cars, it's tough to compare other years. It would seem that Toyota, and especially JGR, has this package figured out. Daytona was very disappointing for Hendrick this year with their best finisher being Kahne at 13th. I'm sure Jr. will be a favorite this weekend for a lot of people but I don't know if I can pick against the Toyotas. Out of the top 5 at Daytona this year, 4 were Toyotas and 3 of those were JGR.

What does all this mean? Hell if I know. I can't pick worth a crap this year so I'm looking at all the data I can find. This may be the first time in a long time that I haven't picked Jr as an A driver at a plate track, but if I do decide to go with a Chevrolet, it may be JJ.

Do you watch or listen to the races?

I ask because I used to data crunch like you, but now i just watch and pick based off of who gave me the bigger racin boner. Obviously I have never won using this method.

I fricked up big time this last week. Most of my picks were based off qualifying good and getting those bonus points. Went from 6th to 12th

Going with Kyle Busch and Jimmy Johnson this week. 8 starts left from each

Nice win. It seems we only have a handful that are putting in an effort to do well. But for those that are playing, it seems pretty competitive right now. I am on top of the pile, knock me off.

Yeah, the weather is not looking good. And even if it is just a few showers, it will take them hours to dry that track.

That does look a lot better! Hope yall have fun and your whole team gets caught up in THE BIG ONE! You know it's coming!

On a somewhat serious note, this is the Talladega Delimma: Probably 80% (if not more) are picking Jr this week. The problem is do you run with the herd or pick someone else and take a chance of Jr winning and falling down the list? In my current situation, I think I have to go with Jr and the herd. May regret it but.....

BTW, today would have been Dales 65th birthday. Happy Birthday to The Intimidator!
