I have the 12th pick in a 12 team league. 15 years of playing FF and never had the last pick. So experts, what different strategies do you suggest?

i say you go with an elite reciever, possibly 2, and maybe an elite qb

once those top 6-7 rb's go, there's a lot of in the middle guys that could be servicable that you could pick up in the later rounds

MJD, McFadden, Gore, Steven Jackson are all elite IMO. There are a lot of middle receivers I think that are way underrated.

I missed the first 2 rounds and the computer auto-drafted Darren McFadden and Roddy White as my 12th and 13th picks. I am pretty pleased with McFadden but I hate Roddy White. He may end the season as a top 3 fantasy WR, but I still hate that SOB.

If you trust your instincts in mid-round runningbacks, then you should nab two elite WR's out of the big 4:

Andre Johnson
Calvin Johnson
Roddy White
Larry Fitzgerald.

Definitely shouldn't pass on RB's like Foster, Peterson, Rice, Charles, CJ, McCoy, McFadden, Turner, and Mendenhall. MJD and SJAX have fallen out of the first round on most draft boards now. I've never been a fan of drafting QB in the first round, so I would wait until the 3rd/4th pick. Peyton Manning is available in the 4th round in most drafts now. You most likely will also see Antonio Gates around during those picks. I drafted RB/WR with those picks instead and waited until the 5th/6th picks to get my QB/TE. I ended up with Eli Manning and Jason Witten. I am satified with that.

I'd probably target the guys who I think have a strong chance of finishing top 5 at their respective positions.

Probably an elite WR and an elite QB. But depends on how your roster breaks out and what your scoring is.
