any thoughts as to which format is the better choice and if you have done this in the past, does anyone really even grab a te at all outside of the top 2-3?

If you already have a flex position then I would go TE/WR. If then it would be 3 wrs or 2 wrs and 1 te.
If you do it the other way you could have someone starting 4 rbs

Then get mad at the rest of the league for not trading your 1st/2nd round picks for the TE who was drafted in the 4th

There are point differences between different levels at each position. What makes the TE position different is that, since it is relatively low scoring that a 4 ppg difference is larger percentage wise than at say QB.

Of course, at the end of the day if your QB avgs 4 ppg more than the other guys, and his TE is 4 ppg better....

It really depends what you want out of fantasy football. If you're trying to challenge yourself with the competition, then keeping the ole TE around is probably best.

On the other hand, I've been in leagues that wanted a "team QB" position because people cried if their starter got hurt.

Fwiw, I was in a 12 team league once that allowed you to start different formations with the caveat if u started a 2nd RB, you had to start a TE. Thought that was a pretty good trade off

Always thought it might be good to somehow work a FB position in and run RB-FB and 3 WRs but was limited by site designating FB
