He is going to probably be the nominee in 2024 instead of making a failed bid in 2020. It will be interesting to see how the RNC positions him after the 2020 elections.

His resume is lining up with what the middle American blue collar guy wants.

Served in military
Been in both houses of congress
Committee membership in Intelligence, Defense, and Economics
Has law degree from Harvard


His issue is after 8 years of Trump the country may want a shift away, as the country usually seems to go in 8-12 year cycles. I believe he would be viewed as a Trump successor not his own candidate though.

Nothing against Cotton but I hope not. If anything I hope over the next 4-8 years Trump can help break the mold of career politician or running based of a "resume".

Need to look more into Cotten but I get the sense that Trump is a one term president. I'm hoping for Rand 2020
