Help me understand something about a Clinton pardon.

I keep seeing people say that Obama will pardon Hillary before he leaves office. I'm not sure I understand how that will happen since she has yet to be convicted of any wrong doing? How does one pardon someone that hasn't been convicted yet?

I don't believe you can.

It can be done... It was done with Nixon but that involved a sitting POTUS and was a different time and situation... That pardon also cost Ford the election because of the backlash...
However, the acceptance of a pardon technically requires an admission of guilt...

Even if he pardons her, can't Trump just prosecute her day 1 he is in the office?

Which she will never do. So I'm thinking that Obama will be out of the white house by the time she gets convicted.

My understanding is that he can give her a blanket pardon for any crimes she may have committed while SOS.

Nixon wasn't convicted of any crimes, nor was he impeached. Ford pardoned him for any wrong doing perceived or actual which in essence stopped the hearings.

It was also part of the deal to secure his resignation...
I highly doubt Obama even offers a pardon for two reasons:
1. They really do not like each other.
2. The damage is already done since she lost.

Obama doesn't even like the Clintons, I don't think he will.

Obama may pardon her to cover himself though.

Hate to say it b/c I would love to see her do the perp walk, but I think that whole email thing is done-zo. He'll have much bigger things to worry about.

It's not like he has to handle it personally.
Not sure how the optics would be on that though. Unless there's undisclosed irrefutable evidence that would show the people on both sides that it was necessary for justice.
