I never thought it could happen. I would have bet my house that it would be a landslide the other way.

During the primary nobody was more anti-Trump than me. But I was wrong. I was right about how the media would treat him after the nomination, but I was wrong about how the people would react to that media onslaught.

As I said many times after the convention - I am unreservedly happy that I was wrong. DELIRIOUSLY happy. Never been happier in my life to have been wrong. Seeing the end of the corrupt Clinton political empire is a cherry on top of this long life I have led.

I apologize for giving up on the essential goodness of the America people. I have renewed optimism for the America my great-grandsons will enjoy.

This is one of the happiest days of the latter part of my life. I eat my crow with eager hunger. I love being wrong like this.

Thank you Donald J. Trump = you, and your avid supporters, saw something to which I was completely blind,

Such a great day to be an AMERICAN.

Ditto.

I even went as far to say there would never be another R POTUS.

I thought the country was lost. Completely lost and dependent.

I was wrong.

Glad I was wrong, but now I'm concerned about the R super majority.

I was concerned for you for a while

No crow served on the train. You may eat pheasant under glass or squab.

I love you, my friend

Where's NavyTiger74?

I think he may be too proud to actually come back and face his humbling.

I was concerned for you as well. I also was in despair for my grandkids. Glad that we at least have a chance to rebuild our country. Your post reveals a real man, who has been awarded a second chance.

I miss that guy - don't know what happened to him.

I disagree - my take on him is that he would own up to his error, just as many of us are doing this morning.

I am worried about him.

I'm glad OP has made peace with the President-elect being who he is.

I can at least say that I have some reserved bits of optimism that would have no hope of being there had Clinton won. But with his populism now at the forefront of the party, I am concerned for the future of small-government conservatism, which is the reason I didn't trust Trump to begin with and still don't.

But if he follows through on at least trimming our regulatory state as he has said he would, that'd be reason to at least be a little happy. Obama's Clean Power Plan ought to be on the chopping block first

i didnt think he could do it either. In the end he surprised the hell out of me, but the big thing is Hillary is not president.

no matter what people believe, its time to respect the office of the president and stand behind Trump.

the left needs to give him a shot and hear him out.

It will be legitimately interesting to see how his approach here develops now that he's responsible for more than rhetoric on the subject. Ditto for replacing Obamacare with something. Few excuses with Congress shaping up how it is

I was anti-Trump during the primaries as well. Partially because I saw him as too moderate, partially because I didn't trust him and partially because I thought he was shooting himself in the foot and would make it easy for Hillary. I underestimated how hard he would work and campaign for this, but goddamn, the man went nonstop, NONSTOP!!! I am so happy he's sending this administration packing and so very relieved.
