Bump to avoid total jam band dilution on first page.

A little live QOTSA

Probably their best lineup too IMO. Homme, Oliveri and Grohl...just sick. Homme and Grohl are two of my favorite musicians and I LOVE the way Oliveri plays. Sucks he is gone. Really liked Joey on drums. Can't say I'm as big of a fan of Theodore, but he's alright I guess.

ETA: Not 100% sure it fits the thread or if it has already been posted, but Fudge Tunnel - Grey is a solid one too.

LINK

The new Down ep is out now. Its ok. Nothing great, but not awful either. As much as I love the first two Down albums, I'm kinda bored with everything else they've done.

Yeah same here. I think NOLA is one of the best records ever and I enjoyed II & III. This EP shite has been horrible.

Tried a few times but that track has no audio for me

That lineup of QOTSA was untouchable. However this last album's lineup was very interesting and I cannot wait for a new release!!

I really feel as if they are slipping lyrically from what I am use to with their music.

This song is all kinds of bad ass... just Troy's lyrics are not hitting IMO
Makes me think this is why Brann sings more now.

I hope they don't half arse this record like the last.

Agree, their first 2 albums were awesome and then something went terribly wrong.

Great music!
Don't know what is "considered" stoner metal though
Thinking maybe Slipknot and Mudvayne, two of my favorites, but hell they may be too mainstream for this thread.

Everyone in here has listened to Slipknot and Mudvayne Im sure.

I have every Slipknot release and quite a few Mudvayne.
Mudvayne went down hill after Happy IMO

Mastodon is easily my favorite band in the kaleidoscopic world of "metal" today. Pumped for a new one, don't agree that "The Hunter" was half-assed, though.

It was a far cry from Crack The Skye, Blood Mountain, and Levithian.

Their first album Enter is great. Six songs of pure friggin instrumental greatness.

Another new one for me but the more I listen the more I enjoy
