Pelosi hinted earlier that something was coming soon and she preferred that it was via executive order and not legislative.

At some point, he's going to have to bring the insurance bigwigs to the White House and work out a deal with them whereby they honor the plans they had to cancel under the ACA until the government can get the website operational. There will be a bailout or a stimulus or a huge tax break to the industry on the back end.

how can they, the plans are already cancelled, the actuarial tables have been shifted.

This just doesnt happen, shite it would take months to get to the point they could actually make the offer.

I agree, but that is the only way to prevent a bigger calamity.

Industry will have to absorb the costs on the front end for the govnerment's frickup, and government will have to pay them back on the back end.

I guess government doesn't "have to", but I'm sure the execs aren't making a deal without some kind of assurance. Although after seeing how JPMorgan was treated after doing the gubment a solid, I'd make sure some legislation was passed cementing the terms of our deal before balining the government out.

This has NOTHING to do with the uprising about people losing their plans. Their plans were dropped because they don't meet the standards of the law. The only way to change that is to legislatively go back and take out the requirements.

THEN they would have to give the insurance companies $$$ in order to roll back to the old plans.

He needs to work out a deal with himself. He's stupid Obamacare scheme is the reason they had to cancel the plans.

lol

Obama doesn't have the political capital left to pass another bailout or stimulus. Especially not for an industry that he personally has spent years vilifying.

It will be outside the existing legal principles. Basically a good faith gesture by the industry so Joe and Jane Citizen don't suffer because the ACA rollout was a complete disaster.

Now industry has Obama over a barrel and should get some great concessions out of the deal, but I think that's the play going forward.

Dems will go for it because it takes some heat off of them for the atrocious rollout. It puts Republicans in a tricky place. Voting for it would alleviate short-term suffering and voting against it is basically telling the American people to just suffer for the short-term.

THIS ISNT ABOUT LEGAL, this is about MONEY.

Insurance companies offer plans based on statistical models that produce actuarial tables that determine risk, cost, etc.

They changed those models based on Obamacare and have crunched those numbers.

Now you want them to go back to the old plans?

They must now, go back, make new models based on those plans, do new tables, then make the offer.

MONTHS to do if they work nonstop, maybe a year.

The standards were added to the law AFTER it was signed into law. That's why, technically, the President can claim he was not lying when he said you could keep your plan before it passwd.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that President Barack Obama will offer a fix to Obamacare problems as soon as today.
“I think it can be done administratively. The president will offer a proposal today, is my understanding,” Pelosi said at the World Ideas Forum, hosted by The Atlantic.

re: President to Speak at 11:35est

Look at the morning news line-up.

quote:

Obama’s new trust gap . . . Politico
Poll: Half say Obama “knowingly lied” . . . Fox News
Dems want Obama to keep his promise . . . New York Times
Hillary made the same promise in 2007 . . . Examiner
GOP plots use of political gold . . . Politico
Fateful dates on the Obamacare calendar . . . Politico
New Secret Service misconduct alleged . . . Washington Post
Boehner nixes Immigration reform . . . Washington Times
Details emerge about Benghazi wounded . . . Fox News
Kerry intifada warning spurs Israel flap . . . Fox News
Republicans seek to impeach Holder . . . The Hill
Obama’s Cabinet is a sad place to be . . . Politico

Obama will be breaking into the TV to say he will punish the fat cats of the insurance companies and he did not have a clue the market place was going to be a mess he saw it on Faux News last night.

He will also say some type of BS to cover for the dems that are drowning because of him.
